Be it known that l, SAMUEL KLINE, a citizen of the United States, residingr at Trenton, in the county of Mercer and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Chairs, whereof the followingr is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, showing a part thereof.

The drawing isa side elevation of a chair, showing` my design.

Said chair comprises a base A, and a frame B, mounted on said base, and provided with a seat D, back C, and a foot-rest E.

My present invention relates to the said frame B, the principal feature of my design being the contourof said frame, consisting in v abroad upper portion BX, forming sides or arms for said scat-member D, and havin g an abrupt or substantially vertical front edge B, and a sloping` rear edge 132, terminating; in a narrow substantially horizontal basal port-ion bx. The opening Bgn the said broad upper portioirB is partly closed by vertical bars Z13. The said .horizontal basal portion '0X oi' said frame B is supplemented at its forward end by an npn-'ardly-extending foot-rest member EX.

The design for a chair herein shown and described.
