ANTOINE H. MELOOHE, OF WVHITNEY, MICHIGAN.
DESIGN FOR A SUPPORT FOR PENHOLDERS.
P CI ICATION forming part of Design No. 27,737, dated October 19, 1897. Application filed August 4, 1897. Serial No. 647,131. Term of patent 14 years.
. T0 aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ANTOINE H. MELOCHE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Whitney, in the county of Menominee and 5 State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Support for Penholders, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part there- :0 of, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a penholder-support embodying my design. Fig. 2 is a bottom plan View, and Fig. 3 is a vertical longitudinal section.
5 The design relates to supports for penholders, of that class which are adapted to be placed upon a finger of the hand for the pur pose of holding a pen in proper position for writing and to maintain the holder in posi- 0 tion on the hand, so that said holder need not be placed upon a deslqfor example, when not being used, enabling the penholder and pen to be brought instantly into service upon resuming writing.
The contour of the design approximates the shape of an ellipse, but is made fiat or square at its contracted end 10. The front and side walls of the larger portion of the support are made flaring, or are given an outward inclination, as at 12, and a large opening 13 is made in the holder at its larger portion, the wall whereof is flared in direction of the outer surface of the holder, and a second smaller opening 14. is produced at the contracted end, and said smaller opening connects with the larger one.
I claim- The design for a support for penholders herein shown and described.
