PAUL NORTH, OF CLEVELAND, OHIO, ASSIGNOR TO THE CLEVELAND TARGET COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.

DESIGN FOR A TARGET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,298, dated February 15, 1898.

Application filed November 8, 1897. Serial No. 657,887. Term of patent 14 years.

Be it known that I, PAUL NORTH, a citizen of the United States, residingr at Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Target, of which the followingisafu1l,clear,and exactdeseription, reference being had tothe accompanying drawing.

The target is a printed plain surface, like a map or chart, and is designed to be hung or otherwise secured in a vertical position, and the drawing is a. front elevation ofthe target when so placed.

The target consists, essentially, of a surface covered with representations of flying targets, which are about the shape of an inverted sauce-dish.

The target shown in the drawing is a circle having.,r at its center a bulls-eye of different color from the background, the hulls-eye being one solid color, as black. Between the periphery of the circle and the hulls-eye are represented a large number of clay pigeons, which are in perspective and are shown in outline only, These flying targets, which on the target are figures of more or less elliptical shape, may or may not be in the same color as the b11lls-eye, but they should he of different color from the background.

Referring to the parts by letters, A represents the background of the target, ll the bulls-eye, and C the clay pigeons.

Having described my invention, I claim- The design for a target, substantially as herein shown and described.
