Be it known that I, WILLIAM B. This design relates to the configuration of a carton or envelop of the kind which are used for inclosing the round tin cans containing canned or preserved goodsfor instance, vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, and the like.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a carton or envelop embodying my design. Fig. 2 is a plan View thereof. Fig. 3 is a vertical section in line 3 3, Fig. 2, viewed obliquely.

The essential feature of my design consists of a hollow eight-sided prismatic body having at each end a head, which is composed of radially-converging triangular sections.
A represents the body of the carton or envelop, having the form of a hollow eight-sided prism.
B represents the heads, which are formed at the upper and lower ends of this hollow body and which are each composed of eight triangular sections 0. Each of these triangular sections is united at its base to the end of one of the sides (I of the body and extends therefrom inwardly to a common center, at which the apices or points of the triangular sections of the same head meet.
I claim as my invention The design fora carton or envelop, substantially as herein shown and described.
