ALICE GIRTANNER, OF NEXV YORK, N. Y.

DESIGN FOR A MEMBER FOR MANICURE-SOISSORS.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,974, dated July 5, 1898.

Application filed December 18,1897. Serial No. 662,493. Term of patent '7 years.

T0 (LIZ w/tont z'fl; 71mg/ conce/"lt:

Be it known that l, ALICE GIRTANNER, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Member for Manicure-Scissors; and I do hereby decla-re the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

This invention relates to a new and useful design for a member for manicure-scissors, which will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a perspective view of the member for mani cure-scissors embodying the improved design. Fig. 2 is a top plan view of the same.

Referring to the drawings, wherein similar numerals of reference are employed to indicate corresponding parts in both views, the numeral l designates a bowed or curved blade, 2 a comparatively long straight handle, and 3 a finger-loop, and, as thus far described, the form and contour of the several parts of the member are well known in the art.

The essential feature of the design resides in the member for manicurescissors set forth, having a centrally-located projection 4 at the rear of the finger-loop 3. This projection forms a nail-cleaning blade and extends rear wardly from the periphery of the said loop in a horizontal plane, making an addition to the elliptical contour of said loop of the said projection, which has opposite curved edges converging to a point, and also having the plane of the under side thereof substantially coinciding with the plane of the lower edge of the said loop.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is- The design for a member for manicure-scissors, substantially as herein shown and described.

In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
