UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.

HENRY M. \VILLIAMS, OF FORT \VAYNE, INDIANA, ASSIGXOR OF ONE- FOURTIT TO FRANZ BURGER, OF SAME PLACE.

DESIGN FOR A CUP.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,815, dated December 20, 1898.

Application filed November 23, 1898. Serial No. 697,293. Term of patent 14 years.

To n. u'hmn, it may concern.-

Be it known that I, HENRY M. WILLIAMS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Fort \Vayne, in the county of Allen and State of Indiana, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cups, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.

Figure 1 is a plan view of a cup embodying my design, and Fig. 2 is a side view of the same.

The leading feature of my design consists in the shape or configuration of the bowl or body of a cup, and, as shown in Fig. 1, the bowl or body presents an outline embracing three curves joined at their ends, showing a bowl or body A, having three rounded extensions a, with indentations I). These rounded extensions as they extend downward swell out gradually and then contract where they merge into the bottom 13. Extending from the body is the handle D, having an opening d.

The general appearance of the design presents a bowl or body embracing three curved and rounded extensions merging into each other toward the bottom, and from one of the indentations between the extensions projects a handle.

What I claim is- The design for a cup or similar article, substantially as shown and described.

In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.

HENRY H. \YILLIAMS.
