DESIGN FOR A HANGING SHELF.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,064, dated January 24, 1899.
Application filed December 31, 1898. serial No. 700,853. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, ELOF ANDREEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Osage City, in the county of Osage and State of Kansas, have invented and produced a. new and original Design for a Hanging Shelf, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
My invention relates to new and useful designs for shelves.
In the drawings, Figure 1 representsaperspective view, and Fig. 2 a side elevation, of a hanging shelf, showing my new design.
The leading or material feature of the design resides in the vertically-elongated skeleton rectangular frame having a frustumshaped or tapered upper end, a series of horizontal perforated figures occurring at intervals along said f rame,having upturned flanges at their opposite margins and a rod extending vertically through the center of the rectangular frame and said horizontal figures.
Minor features of m y design comprisea loop at the upper end of the rod, wings or arms projecting horizontally from the rod beneath the top of the rectangular frame and the several horizontal figures, and wings or arms projecting from the corners of the verticallyelongated frame and underlying the said horizontal figures, the wings or arms of the rod and the rectangular frame beneath the undermost horizontal figure having arelatively large upper portion with curved branch arms depending therefrom.
Referring to the drawings in detail, 1 designates the vertically-elongated frame, having its upperend tapered or frustum-shaped, said frame being formed with four rods bent inward toward each other near their upper ends and surmounted by a top plate 3, the bent or inclined portions forming the frustum-shaped or tapered upper end2.
4 designates the series of perforated horizontal figures, having at their side margins the upturned flanges 5, the central perforations of said plates being numbered 6 and the corner ones 4*.
7 designates the rod extending vertically of the skeleton frame and the said horizontal figures.
8 designates the loop at the upper end of rod 7.
9 designates the wings or arms projecting from the rod 7 at the under side of the top plate 3, and horizontal figures 4 and 9 the pendent curved arms of the wing or arm be low the uudermost horizontal figure.
10 designates the wings or arms projecting from the corners of the vertically-elongated frame and underlying the said horizontal figures, and 10 the pendent curved arms of the wings or arms below the undermost horizontal figure.
\Vhat I claim is The design for a hanging shelf, as herein shown and described.
