DESIGN FOR A TILE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,072, dated January 24, 1899.

Application filed December 29, 1898. Serial No. 700,666. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern.-

13o it known that I, EVALENA S. THOMAS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lindenwold, Camden county, State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Tile, of which the following is a full, clear, and exactdescription reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification.

My invention relates to the external form or configuration of tiling employed in laying mosaic or other tiled surfaces; and it consists in making such blocks or tiles of a novel form or shape, the distinguishing characteristics of which are shown in the annexed drawings, in which Figure 1 is an elevation of my tile-block, and Fig. 2 a plan View thereof.

The tile shown is flat, with three curvilinear vertical sides, two of said sides a. and 1) consisting of compound curves forming a concavo-convex outline, and being equal in size and curvature, while the third side 0 is also concave-convex, but of larger curves, its vertical plan ular length being equal to the hypotenuse of a right angle drawn from the corners of the two equal sides.

I claim as new and of my invention- The design for a tile substantially as shown and described.
