DESIGN FOR A PIPE-COUPLING.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,487, dated April 4, 1899. Application filed February 21, 1899. Serial No. 706,419. Term of patent '7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JERE J. IIANRAHAN, of the city of New York, borough of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Pipe-Coupling, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.

Figure 1 is a front View of a pi pe-coupling, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a VlOW at right angles to Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is a crosssection.

As shown in the drawings, the loading or material features of my design consist in a cylindrical body portion of uniform diameter throughout its length and showing screwthreads at the ends, a cylindrical portion 2 at right angles to the body portion, and a perforated ear-like projection 3, extended from the opposite side of the body portion to that of the portion 2 and in alinement therewith. The portion 2 has an outward projection 4 at its junction with the body portion, and the face of the projection 3 is on a line inward of the face-line of the cylindrical portion 2, and the front portion of the perforation through the ear-like projection is flared.
