DESIGN FOR A STAPLE.

To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN LA PRELLE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Austin, in the county of Travis and State of Texas, have invented and produced a new and original Design fora Staple, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to a new and original design for staples.
The essential feature of the design resides in a staple provided with series of barbs or spurs and intervening corrugations arranged in continuous series at the inner and outer edges of the staple.
Aminor feature of the design resides in the tapered ends of the sides of the staple and the smooth faces between the spurs and corrugations.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective View of a staple, showing my new and original design. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same.
Referring to the drawings, in which like numerals of reference designate corresponding parts, 1 indicates a staple provided atits inner and outer edges 3 and i with spurs or barbs and intervening corrugations arranged in continuous series, as clearly shown in Fig. 2, and presenting irregular inner and outer surfaces. The sides 3, which have their terminals tapered, are provided between the inner and outer spurs and corrugations with smooth faces 2.
What I claim is- The design for a staple, herein shown and described.
