DESIGN FOR A PAPER-CLIP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,946, dated June 6, 1899.
Application filed May 9,1899. Serial No. 716,1'75- Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GEORGE P. FARMER, a citizen of the United States, residing in Montclair, Essex county, State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Paper-Clips, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.
This invention relates to clips of wire, such as are slipped upon the edges of sheets of paper or other material for the purpose of holding them together; and it consists in the design for such clips shown in the accompanying drawing, which illustrates in plan View a clip which embodies the design.
In accordance with the invention the clip comprises a middle loop with substantially parallel members a and b and outer legs a and 0?, each of which is bent over toward the member a or I), from which it springs, as at c, and is then bent outwardly away from such member, as atf, the two portions forming in each outer leg an inward bend or knuckle g.
The characteristic feature of the design is 25 the inward bend or knuckle of the outer legs.
I claim as my invention The design fora paper-clip, substantially as shown and described.
