DESIGN FOR A CHAIR.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,513,dated September l2, 1899.

Application filed Angust9,1899, Serial No. 726,731. Term of patent 7 years.

lle it known thatl, An'rnUl-t lhnnixx'lmcn, a citizen of the United States, residing at (Grand Rapids, in the county ol' kent and State of Michigan, have invented and prodneed a new and original Design for (Jh-airs, of which the following is a speciiieation, reference being had te the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.

As shown in the drawing, the leading or distinctive feature of my design consists in the broad [lat rectangular arms, aclosed reetangnlar structure beneath one arm, and an open rectangular' struetn re beneath the other arm, said arms and struetn res projecting ontward from the vertical line ofthe chair-legs.

A is the upholstered back of the chair; l, the upholstered seat of the same; C, the ver tical posts 0r legs. I) are broad llat rectangular arms projecting outward from the Vertical plane of the legs; E, panels in the vertical plane of the legs closing the space be tween the arms and seat; l a rectangular boxr beneath the arm al. one side; l, a betteln board below the enter arm and parallel thereto; G G, vertical panels connecting said arm and bottom board and extending at right angles to the panel E; ll, a vertical panel parallel to the panel E and extending from the outer edge of the panel (il forward at right angles to said panel, and J J are brackets extending ontward from the front legs of the chair and beneal l1 the box F and bottom board l.
