Application filed August 27, 1900. Serial No. 28,257. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it ntay concern:

Be it known that I, ADOLPHUS W. RICH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee and State of Wisconsin, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Button-Shoes, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

Figure 1 is a side view of a shoe, showing my new design; and Fig. 2 is a front view of the same.

As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of two inset strips a (1, extending on each side of a single central band 73 from the seam between the top (1 and the vamp or upper 9 over the instep t0 the upper edge of the top. These inset strips a a are made of material contrasting with that of the top d and central band I) and are stitched along their edges to the overlying edges of the central hand b, the top d on one side, and the button-flyfon the other side, the stitches or seams giving an ornamental or finished appearance to the design. Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

The design for a button-shoe as herein shown and described.

In witness whereof I hereto alfix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
