UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
DANIEL WV. TOlVER, OF GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN.
DESIGN FOR A HINGE MEMBER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,238, dated October 29, 1901-. Application filed September 16, 1901. Serial No. 75,629. Term of patent STyears To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DANIEL W. TOWER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Grand Rapids, in the county of Kent and State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Hinge Member, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a hinge member, and the essential features reside in the design as illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a hinge member embodying the features of the design. Fig. 2 is a transverse vertical section on the line 2 2, Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is an edge elevation of the same.
The design is characterized by a leaf 1, having intermediate transverse projections 2 with convex edges and apertures therethrough. These projections run into concave recesses '3 to form a leaf-like extremity 4, also having an aperturetherein. Near the inner terminal of the leaf 1 an offset 5 is located and 00115 tinnes into a transversely-reduced member 6 with parallel side edges 7 and having a curved terminal 8. A hollow tapered rib 9 extends from the curved terminal 8 longitudinally through the center of a greater portion of the leaf.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is'- The design for a hinge member, as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
DANIEL W. TOWER.
