DESIGN FOR A WASTE-BASKET.

Specification for Design.

Patented Oct. 16, 1917.

Application filed April 12, 1917. Serial N 0. 161,657. Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that JOHN B. ELLIS, a citizen of the United States, residing at High Point, in the county of Guilford, State of North Carolina, has invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for WVaste- Baskets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.

This invention relates to a new, original and ornamental design for waste baskets.

An ornamental feature of the design consists in the gradual tapering appearance of the basket, and in general the ornamental features consists of a flat circular base 1, which has cylindrical rods 3 rising upwardly from its upper face adjacent its marginal edge, said rods being inclined slightly outwardly, in order to give the basket its gradual tapering appearance, and

to the upper ends of said rods, a ring 2 substantially circular in cross section is connected. Another ornamental feature of the design consists of additional rods 4 rising upwardly from the base near its marginal edge in between the first rods, and which are considerable shorter than the rods 8, and are smaller in diameter, and have on their upper ends spherical heads 5.

The invention having been set forth, what is claimed as new and original, is

The ornamental design for a waste paper basket substantially as herein described and shown.
