Be it known that I, MATTHEW DINN, ot'
the city of Rochester, in the county of Menroe and State of Sew York, have invented a new and original Design for Ladies" \Vork- Stands; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same reference being had to the aceompznrving photographic illustration.
My improvemen t relates to an ordinary workstand consisting of a basket or receptacle, (1, standards b b, plati'orm e, aml legs (I (I. These parts are of the usual form.
1 erect upon the top oi the basket or receptacle four standards,[ff]; and secure upon these a circular body, g, with aplnin top, 7.. I, also place on the platform 0, beneath the basket, an ornament, h, which consists of a turned standard or base 1', and circular rim I in the form of a vase, with a convex top m.
The bed g and the ornament in resting re speetivel above and below the basket, constitute my improvement, and present an ornamental and attractive appearance by relievin the stiff and monotonous form of the basket when used alone. The bod 7 covers and 1e lievcs the top of the basket, while the or|1ament h fills the open space between the plat form and bottom of the basket.
