Be it known that I, JERRY P. THOMAS, ot' the city and county of New York, have orig inated and designed an Advertising Board or Card to be suspended or otherwise publieiy exposed, ol' whieh the following is a specification:
This design is intended to represent a book suspended by the head-band or upper end, as is very commonly done with directories or other books For public reference, and is illustrated by the accompanying drawing, and described as follows:
A represents the headband of the book, through which passes the ring: or loop It. i represents one cover of the book, dropped by its own weight and much use, while 0 and D are, respectively, the top and front edges of i the book, distorted in the same manner, the
whole being intended to give the representation of an old directory or other book naturally worn and out of shape by use. This board may be made of wood, card-btmrd, metal, or of any other suitable nmteriai, and the design may be represented by drawing, painting, lithographing, printing, or by any other suitable and well-known means. The cover 15 maybe ornamented in any manner desired.
What I claim as my invention isihe design for an advertising medium representing & book suspended by its headband or upper end with one rover exposed, in the manner and for the purpose set forth.
