PATENT OFFICE DESIGN FOR A METAL BEER CAN Charles E. McManus, Spring Lake, N. J., assignor to Crown Cork & Seal Company, Inc., Baltimore, Md., a corporation of New York Application August 9, 1935, Serial No. 58,054
Term of patent 14 years To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that I, Charles E. McManus, a citizen of the United States, residing at Spring Lake, State of New Jersey, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Metal Beer Can, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing,
forming a part thereof.
Figure l is a side elevational view of a metal beer can, showing my new design.
Figure 2 is a cross sectional view on the line 2-4 of Figure 1.
The design consists of a substantially tubular metal body, the walls of which are deformed to provide longitudinal grooves terminating substantially short of the top and bottom and spaced by relatively wider, undeformed smooth portions paralleling the grooves, and a top which tapers upwardly to a neck which is circumferentially grooved below the lip which is convexly curved above the groove.
The ornamental design for a metal beer can, substantially as shown and described.
CHARLES E. MCMANUS.
