Abstract

Heretofore, the loops for the transport of meat were made with a string which was passed through the meat of which the end was suspended to a hook. The industrial treatment of this type of transport loops creates frequent and serious problems of the knotting machine caused by clogging upon passage of the loop through the meat. The transport loop according to the invention is made of relatively resistant and smooth plastic material and the lower portion of the loop has at least one lateral protuberant support portion (10), so that an independent passage of the loop portion and a subsequent connection of both portions are not required anymore. To this aim, the support portion (10) is integrally connected to the upper portion (5) of the loop and is arranged into a rigid element perpendicular to the main direction of the loop so as to prevent any sliding of the loop through the meat, respectively outside the meat.

Description

TRANSPORTSCHLINGE ZUM TRANSPORT VON HANGENDEN STÜCKEN FLEISCH AN HAKEN TRANSPORT SLING FOR TRANSPORTING HANGING PIECES OF MEAT ON HOOKS
The invention relates to a transport loop for transporting hanging pieces of meat on hooks or the like, consisting of a loop passed through a pre-punched hole through the meat, the uppermost loop part of which is used for hanging and the bottom loop part of which is used to hold the piece of meat in place. Such transport loops are knotted from a cord, passed through the meat and then the upper end of the loop is passed through the lower end, after which the free end of the loop is suspended with the piece of meat.
The cord is linked to a machine, but because the machine also has to pass the cord loop through the meat, serious faults occur particularly frequently due to machine pollution. Correcting these problems is time consuming; in terms of price, it will not be easy to install a second reserve machine.
It has now been shown that the connection and subsequent passage of the slack loop causes the above-mentioned problems and that it is expedient to improve the execution of the loop. According to the invention the loop is now proposed. to make whole from rela tively self-rigid smooth plastic material; the bottom loop part should have an at least laterally protruding holding part that is integral with the top loop part and is dimensionally stable and transverse to the main direction of the transport loop, blocking the meat from slipping or slipping off the loop. So that the holding part assumes the desired position with regard to the loop, the lowest loop part above the holding part should be rod-shaped, preferably having a round average. The holding part can have essentially any shape which blocks the sliding through; a ball or a large disk fulfills such a function, but preferably the holding part consists of a polygonal plate, ie a rectangular plate, the form stability of which is supported by one or more stiffening ribs. The advantages according to the invention are therefore achieved with relatively little material. The holding part is preferably round or oval and there is a stiffening rib in the form of a circular sector on its underside. The longer the sling is, the easier it is to handle; however, the length of the rod-shaped part above the holding part should not become too short and should remain approximately below the largest dimension of the holding part. During transport, there are quite high tensile loads in the transport loop when the meat is caught by the holding part, for example with a shock, and therefore the additional shock load has to be compensated for by the average surfaces subjected to tensile forces. The total average surface area through the transport loop above the rod-shaped part should therefore be larger but at least equal to the average surface of the rod-shaped part. It has further proven for practical reasons that the transport loop may be suitable for multiple use, in contrast to the known transport loop, and this can be because the transport loop according to the invention is made from a single piece of smooth plastic material without a link being in it. Polypropylene plastic material is advantageously used.
Es zeigen:The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing of two exemplary embodiments. Show it:

Fig. 6 ein Gerät zum Hindurchführen der Transportschlinge durchs Fleisches.Fig. 6 shows a device for passing the transport loop through the meat.
The usual transport loop 1 of FIG. 1 shows a knot 2 which is previously manufactured by a machine. This machine works with a needle or the like. who puts the noose through the flesh and then pulls it back (not shown). After the two loop ends have been pulled apart, as shown in FIG. 1, the piece of meat 3 can be held on to it.
Wegen der Länge der Transportschlinge wird es ziemlich leicht sein der oberste Teil der Schlinge zusammen mit einem Gerät, eine Art Pfrieme, siehe Fig. 6, durchs Fleisches hindurchzuführen.2 and 3 show a preferred form of a transport loop 4 whose upper end 5 has the same function as the normal loop. However, it extends downwards here in a rod-shaped part 6. The cross section 7 of the upper part is oval, the cross section 8 of the rod-shaped part 6 is round, the tensile forces arising being absorbed practically everywhere by the same average surface of the transport loop. Further downward, the rod-shaped part 6 merges by means of a rounding 9 into a flat plate 10, which is provided perpendicularly on the rod-shaped part 6 and has a shape that is seen in a bottom view in FIG. 2 will be shown. The plate 10 is oval in shape and provided with a stiffening rib 11 which extends approximately over the length of the plate 10. This stiffening rib 11 gives the plate 10 at the lower end of the transport loop 4 the desired resistance so that the meat cannot be stripped from the rod-shaped part. This measure should be applied in such a way that the hole punched in the meat should of course not be larger than the cross section of the rod-shaped part 6. The height of the rod-shaped part 6 is advantageously approximately equal to the length of the plate 10 and this alone makes the holding part rigid 10 ensured with regard to the loop 4. Because of the length of the transport loop, it will be fairly easy to pass the uppermost part of the loop through the meat together with a device, a kind of awl, see Fig. 6.
Another embodiment of a transport loop 12 is shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. The only difference with the previously described transport loop 4 is that the rod-shaped part 13 is much longer than the corresponding part 6. It may be advantageous to make the top loop part 14 smaller, e.g. To allow more friction with the suspension hook in combination with a rather stiff rod-shaped part 13 that is easy to handle. In this embodiment shown, stiffening ribs 15 and 16 are additionally provided on the holding part 17. This holding part 17 is here approximately rectangular in shape and it should also be ensured here that the tensile forces occurring during transport can be absorbed by the relevant average surfaces of the loop parts .
6 shows, for example, a hand-held device with which the transport loop can be passed through a pre-punched hole in the meat. This hand-held device or awl 18 is provided on its front side with a sharp tip 19 and further to the rear with a hook 20. The loop part of the transport loop is hooked into this hook and then pierced through the meat. The awl is then withdrawn and the piece of meat is then ready to be hung on the hook in the dolly. The awl 18 can also be designed as part of a machine, in such a way that the transport loops are automatically hooked on. However, the invention is limited to the new design of the transport loop according to the invention.
