Abstract

Procédé et dispositif de décapage et éventuellement de dégraissage, d'éléments métalliques longs, notamment fils, bandes et profilés d'acier, suivant lequel on introduit ces éléments dans une solution d'électrolyte dans laquelle on fait passer un courant électrique par l'intermédiaire d'électrodes, suivant lequel on déplace ces éléments, de préférence d'une manière sensiblement continue, suivant la direction de leur longueur à travers au moins deux bains successifs séparés d'une solution aqueuse d'acide chlorhydrique et/ou d'un sel minéral de chlore dans chacun desquels est placée au moins une électrode, une tension électrique étant appliquée à ces électrodes d'une manière telle que le signe de la tension à l'électrode d'un des bains est toujours différent du signe de la tension à l'électrode du bain voisin, les bains étant sensiblement isolés l'un de l'autre pour que le courant électrique passe entre deux bains voisins essentiellement via la partie de l'élément se déplaçant entre ces deux bains voisins.
