Abstract

A paving tool comprising of four triangular boards (10) which has line holes (12) supplied for use with the five different colour coded string lines (14) and built in spirit level (11) and adjustable legs (13) to attain the level and height required, used together by positioning and attaching lines.

Description

PAVING TOOL This invention relates to a paving tool. Paving tools are known to the bricklaying trade to include spirit levels , string lines , these tools are used by tradesmen to produce a level and straight paved area , it is highly unlikely that a satisfactory job can be produced using these tools without any training in that particular field . According to the present invention there is provided a paving tool which can be used without any training in the trade of bricklaying which is normally required to produce a paved area, comprising of colour coded lines , four triangular shaped boards , with each board having a built in two way spirit level , each board has three holes for three legs which are adjustable, positioned line holes for use with the colour coded string lines which are held in place with the line holders ( not shown ) .

Figure 1 shows in perspective a triangular paving board with built in spirit level , adjustable legs and line holes : Figure 2 illustrates the paving boards and appropriate string lines in place to lay block paving 200mm X 100mm : Figure 3 illustrates the paving boards and appropriate string lines in place to lay paving slabs 450mm X 450mm. Referring to the drawing the paving boards 10 can be used in different positions to coexist with the colour coded string lines 14 that is required to do a particular job , the adjustable legs 13 are altered to the height of the paving block or slab to be used while at the same time producing the level needed by using the spirit level 11 the colour coded string lines 14 are then attached to the appropriate line holes 12 by means of a line holder (not shown).

As shown in Figure 2 the paving boards 10 are positioned with the colour coded string lines 14 the colour on the lines changing every 200mm for laying 200mm X 100mm paving blocks in a half bond design , the laying of paving blocks can begin at any end or from each side and produce the same results

Claims

1 A paving tool comprising of four triangular paving boards measuring 600mm X 600mm X 850mm each paving board having a built in two way spirit level each board has three threaded holes for three adjustable legs , and lines holes that are set out for the laying of 200mm X 100mm , the other colour coded lines changing colour every 300mm , every 450mm , every 600mm , and every 150mm.

2. A paving tool as claimed in claim 1 has a 100mm recess from top to bottom on the 850mm side of each paving board for half bonding .

3. A paving board tool as claimed in claim 1 has three adjustable legs and when used with the build in spirit level produces the height and level required.
