- the present invention relates to a method for angioplasty of aneurysms, in particular of the aorta, for which the upper collar is short. It also relates to intraluminal prostheses for the implementation of this process, as well as balloons for the expansion of such prostheses.
- an expandable cylindrical prosthesis is introduced at the level of the aneurysm.
- This endoprosthesis is formed by an expandable reinforcement produced for example by a network of metallic wires, covered by a material ensuring sealing, for example DACRON (trade name) or PTFE.
- the prostheses of the anterior rt are well suited to situations where the upper collar is straight and sufficiently long.
- the contact surface of the endoprosthesis with the healthy vascular parts is then sufficient to avoid leaks (see FIG. 1).
- these prostheses of the prior art are ill-suited to situations where the collar is short, or oblique. In these cases, the connection between the endoprosthesis and the healthy vascular part is insufficient, and leaks can occur in particular at the level of the upper collar. These drawbacks tend to worsen over time, due to possible slippage of the prosthesis, or in the event of worsening of the aneurysm.
