Abstract

The present invention provides a method of promoting a vigorous immune response to Type-2 T cell-independent antigens, such as bacterial polysaccharides, by the administration of a composition comprising a Type-2 T cell-independent antigen conjugated to a lipid or lipid-containing moeity, preferably, Lipo OspA. The composition promotes extensive class switching and memory to Type-2 T cell-independent antigens in immunocompetent and T cell-deficient hosts.
