ここで、 通信端末装置から基地局装置への伝送レート切り替え情報の報告 について説明する。 この報告には、 常時報告している方法と、 必要に応じて 報告する方法がある。 前者の方法は、 常時報告を行っているので、 精度良く 伝送レートを切り替えることができる力 通信量は多くなる。
音声通信などの場合は、 図 6に示すように、 音声情報 (メッセージ) と制 御情報を 1つのスロット内に多重して送信される場合が多い。 したがって、 音声通信や低速データ通信においては常時報告を行うことは可能である 後者の方法は、 必要な時だけ報告するので、 通信量は少なくてすむ この 方法は、 高速データ通信を実現するためのバケツト通信などに使うことが望 ましい 3 パケット通信では、 バースト的に発生する情報を短時間で送る。 そ のために、 図 7 ( a ) 及び図 7 ( b ) に示すように、 スロット中に制御情報 を多重せず、 メッセージであるか制御情報であるかを示すフラグを用いる 図 7 ( a ) はメッセージのときにフラグを立てる場合を示し、 図 7 ( b ) は 制御情報のときにフラグを立てる場合を示す:
次に、 伝送レート切り替えを行うタイミングについて説明するつ 伝送レ一 ト切り替えのタイミングには以下の 4つの方法がある:.
まず、 第 1の方法を図 8を用いて説明する 通信端末装置側で受信品質を 測定していて、 急激に受信品質が悪くなる時がある-.. 移動通信環境下におい て、 例えばシャドウイングと呼ばれる見通し通信が確保できなくなつた場合 では、 急激に数十 d Bも受信電界強度が小さくなる-., このような状況をモニ タしていて、 受信品質が急激に小さくなつたタイミングで報告するつ 基地局 装置では、 この受信品質報告を契機に伝送レー ト切り替えを行う, 基地局側 からの要求により、 又は定期的に、 通信端末側で測定した受信品質が良くな つたときには、 基地局装置で伝送レートを切り替えて伝送レートを元に戻す., なお、 受信品質が急激に悪くなったタイミングゃ受信品質が良くなつたタイ ミングは、 例えば、 受信電界強度などの受信品質についてしきい値判定を行 うことにより検出することができる 3
次に、 第 2の方法を図 9を用いて説明する。 基地局装置において、 受信品 質を測定する。 受信品質が急激に悪くなつた場合は、 シャドウイングと呼ば れる見通し通信が確保できなくなったと考えられる シャドウイングは、 通 信端末装置のアンテナと基地局装置のアンテナの位置で決まるものであり、 キャリア周波数差には影響されない したがって、 このような場合は通信端 末装置においても受信品質が急激に劣化すると考えられる. そこで、 基地局 装置から通信端末装置に向けて受信品質の報告要求を送る, 通信端末装置で は、 受信品質を測定して基地局装置に報告する 基地局装置では受信品質報 告値にしたがって伝送レート切り替え制御を行う。 基地局側からの要求によ り、 又は定期的に、 通信端末側で測定した受信品質が良くなつたときには、 基地局装置で伝送レートを切り替えて伝送レー トを元に戻す。 なお、 受信品 質が急激に悪くなったタイミングゃ受信品質が良くなったタイミングは、 例 えば、 受信電界強度などの受信品質についてしきい値判定を行うことにより 検出することができる—.
次に、 第 3の方法を図 1 0を用いて説明する 通信端末装置において、 受 信したメッセージに誤りがある場合に再送要求を行う-. 基地局装置において、 通信端末装置から再送要求が行われたタイミングで、 基地局装置から通信端 末装置に向けて受信品質の報告要求を送る, 通信端末装置では受信品質を測 定して基地局装置に報告する-, 基地局装置では受信品質報告値に従って伝送 レー ト切り替え制御を行う _ 例えば、 通信端末装置で測定した受信品質報告 値が所定の値より低い場合に伝送レ一卜の切り替えを行う 基地局側からの 要求により、 又は定期的に、 通信端末側で測定した受信品質が良くなつたと きには、 基地局装置で伝送レートを切り替えて伝送レートを元に戻す, なお、 受信品質が急激に悪くなったタイミングゃ受信品質が良くなつたタイミング は、 例えば、 受信電界強度などの受信品質についてしきい値判定を行うこと により検出することができる。
次に、 第 4の方法を図 1 1を用いて説明する。 基地局装置において、 自身 の送信電力をモニタしている, 基地局装置は、 通信端末装置から送られてく る送信電力制御信号に基づいて送信電力を制御しているが、 基地局装置から 通信端末装置間への伝送品質が悪くなった場合、 通信端末装置は送信電力の 増加を要求する。 この要求が他への干渉量を考慮して過剰送信電力であると 判断された場合、 基地局装置で伝送レート切り替え制御を行う。 過剰送信電 力であるとの判断は、 例えばしきい値判定などにより行うことができる。 ま た、 所定の送信電力許容量が確保できたときに、 基地局装置で伝送レートを 切り替えて伝送レートを元に戻す., この所定の送信電力許容量は、 伝送レー トの制御量に応じて適宜決定される。 例えば、 伝送レートを 1 Ζ 2に下げた 場合には、 最低 3 d Βの許容量が確保できたときに伝送レートを切り替える。 なお、 上記 4種類の方法のいくつかを組み合わせることによって、 伝送レ —ト切り替え制御の遅れをなくし、 きめ細かな制御を行うことができる。 このように、 図 1に示す基地局装置から送信された下り回線の信号の受信 品質測定結果を図 2の通信端末装置で測定し、 上り回線で基地局に報告する。 基地局においては、 上り回線で受信した通信端末装置が測定した受信品質測 定結果に基づいて伝送レートを切り替える。
ここで、 伝送レート切り替え制御回路の動作について詳しく説明する 図 1 2は伝送レート切り替え制御回路のフローチャートである—. S T 1 1では、 基地局装置において、 通信端末装置から報告された受信品質測定結果と閾値 1 とを比較する-. ここでは、 受信品質が S I Rである場合について説明する 力 受信品質が受信電界強度、 所望波受信電力、 S I N Rであっても同様で ある, この閾値 1は、 伝送レートに応じて設定するが、 C D V1 A通信方式に おいては、 拡散率あるいは多重コ一ド数に応じて設定する。
受信品質測定結果 (S I R ) が閾値 1 よりも大きい場合は、 そのままの伝 送レートを用いる 3 S I Rが閾値 1よりも小さい場合は、 回線状態が悪いと 判断して、 伝送レートを 1/2の伝送レー卜に切り替える (ST 1 2) コ また、 図 1 3に示すように、 基地局装置において、 通信端末装置から報告 された受信品質測定結果と閾値 1 とを比較し (ST 2 1) 、 S ΐ Rが閾値 1 よりも大きい場合に、 そのままの伝送レートを用い、 S I Rが閾値 1よりも 小さい場合に、 S I Rが閾値 1よりも大きくなる伝送レートに切り替える (S T 2 2 ) , CDMAにおいては、 拡散率を切り替える 3 このため、 S I Rが 閾値 1よりも超えるようになり、 変動する受信品質に対してより精度良く制 御が可能である これにより、 通信相手との間の通信路状態が急激に劣化し た場合でも通信相手の受信品質を改善できるとともに、 目標受信品質が低く なるために送信電力が低減され、 他への干渉量を低減することができる。 し たがって、 伝送レ一ト切り替えによる改善効果を向上させることができる。 また、 図 14に示すように、 基地局装置において、 通信端末装置から報告 された受信品質測定結果と閾値 2とを比較し (ST 3 1) 、 S I Rが閾値 2 よりも小さい場合は、 そのままの伝送レートを用い、 S I Rが閾値 2よりも 大きい場合に、 回線状態が良好であると判断して、 伝送レートを 2倍の伝送 レート (1 /2の拡散率) に切り替える (ST 32) , なお、 ここで、 閾値 2は、 2倍の伝送レートに対応するものであり、 閾値 1より大きく設定する このように、 回線状態が良好であるときに、 伝送レートを上げてできるだけ 多くのデータを伝送する-, すなわち、 通信相手との間の通信路状態が良好な 場合、 通信相手の受信品質を保持したまま、 より高速な伝送が可能となるつ なお、 送信電力は増加しないため、 他への干渉量が増加することはないつ また、 図 1 5に示すように、 閾値 nを設定し (ST4 1 ) 、 基地局装置に おいて、 通信端末装置から報告された受信品質測定結果と閾値 nとを比較す る (ST42) 、 S I Rが閾値 nより小さければ、 閾値 nを次に高速な伝送 レートに対応する閾値 n + 1に変更する (ST43) 。 S I Rが閾値nょり 大きければ、 n番目に高速な伝送レー ト (拡散率) を設定する (ST44) , すなわち、 S I Rが 2つの伝送レートに対応する 2つの閾値 nと閾値 n + 1 の間となるような伝送レートに切り替える。 なお、 閾値 nは n番目に高速な 伝送レートに対応し、 閾値 n + 1より大きい, この場合、 受信品質を満足す るという条件下で最も高速な伝送が可能となる 3 これにより、 より正確に回 線状況に応じた伝送レートの制御を行うことができる
このような方法により、 通信端末装置の受信品質に基づいて基地局の伝送 レー トを切り替えることができる。 これにより、 通信相手の受信品質が悪い 状態が続くことを回避するとともに、 目標の受信品質を低くなるために送信 電力が低減され、 これにより他への干渉量を低減することができる 3 、 した がって、 通信端末装置の澴境ゃ伝送速度に影響されずに、 通信端末装置に対 する基地局送信電力を適切に制御することができるつ

図 1 6は、 本発明の実施の形態 2に係る基地局装置の構成を示すブロック 図である。
この基地局装置においては、 アンテナ 1 0 1で受信した信号は、 送信と受 信で同一のアンテナを用いるためのアンテナ共用器 1 0 2を通じて受信 R F 回路 1 0 3に送られる: 受信 R F回路 1 0 3では、 受信信号が増幅され、 中 間周波数又はべ一スバンド周波数に周波数変換される
周波数変換された信号は、 復調回路 1 0 4で復調される-, 復調結果は、 分 離回路 1 0 5に送られ、 分離回路 1 0 5で受信データと送信電力制御信号に 分離される
伝送レート切り替え制御回路 1 0 6では、 送信電力制御信号に基づいて伝 送レー 卜の切り替え信号を送信フレーム作成器 1 0 7に送る。 伝送レート切 り替え制御回路の動作については後で説明する
送信については、 送信データを変調回路 1 0 8で変調して送信 R F回路 1 0 9に送る- 送信 R F回路 1 0 9では、 送信データを周波数変換する, この 送信信号が、 アンテナ共用器 1 0 2を通じてアンテナ 1 0 1から送信する 図 1 7は、 本発明の実施の形態 2に係る基地局装置と無線通信を行う通信 端末装置の構成を示すプロック図である。
アンテナ 1 0 1で受信された信号は、 送信と受信で同一のアンテナを用い るためのアンテナ共用器 1 0 2を通じて受信 R F回路 1 0 3に送られ、 そこ で増幅され、 更に中間周波数又はベースバンド周波数に周波数変換される 3 周波数変換された信号は、 復調回路 1 0 4で復調される。 同時に、 受信 R F 回路の出力信号は、 送信電力制御値算出回路 1 0 5に送られ、 そこで送信電 力制御信号が決定されるつ
この送信電力制御信号は、 例えば、 受信電界強度、 所望波受信電力、 受信 信号電力対干渉電力比 (S I R ) 、 受信信号電力対干渉電力 +雑音電力比 ( Sianal- to- Interference pulse Noise Ratio) (こ っレヽて i¾:疋す る。 また、 送信電力信号として送る情報量は、 送信電力を大きくする/小さ くする、 の 2情報の場合や、 大きくする/そのまま保持 Z小さくする、 の 3 情報の場合や、 4情報以上にして前記以上に制御量を細かく設定する場合が ある。
まず、 制御情報が 2情報の場合について説明する 受信電界強度に基づく 場合は、 受信 R Fの電力を測定する、 そして、 測定した電力が閾値よりも大 きい場合は基地局からの送信電力を小さくするように制御信号を生成し、 測 定した電力が閾値よりも小さい場合は基地局からの送信電力を大きくするよ うに制御信号を生成する-, このような受信電界強度に基づく方法は回路構成 が最も簡単である また、 干渉波が存在しないような環境で用いることがで きる
所望波受信電力に基づく場合は、 受信信号に対して既知信号を乗算して測 定する, 干渉波が存在する時は、 受信電界強度だけでは、 所望波と千渉波の 受信電力を報告したことにならない恐れがある このため、 通信端末装置が 必要とする所望信号の受信電力を測定して報告する必要がある, そこで、 誤 り率特性を決定する指標として最も確実な情報である S I N Rを受信品質と して用いることが好ましい。
所望波受信電力の測定回路を図 1 8に示す。 この回路では、 受信信号の既 知パタン部分を取り出し、 基地局が持つ既知パタンを複素共役回路 3 0 2で 複素共役演算し、 複素乗算回路 3 0 1で複素乗算を行い、 複素平面上の所望 受信信号の位置 (図 5における黒丸の位置) を算出し、 この算出結果に基づ いて、 電力測定回路 3 0 3で電力を測定する。 そして、 比較回路 1 8 0 1で 測定した電力が閾値 3よりも大きい場合は基地局からの送信電力を小さくす るように制御信号を生成し、 測定した電力が閾値 3よりも小さい場合は基地 局からの送信電力を大きくするように制御信号を生成する。
一方、 S I N Rの測定回路を図 1 9に示す。 この回路では、 受信信号の既 知パタン部分を取り出し、 基地局が持つ既知パタンを複素共役回路 4 0 2で 複素共役演算し、 複素乗算回路 4 0 1で複素乗算を行い、 複素平面上の所望 受信信号の位置 (図 5における黒丸の位置) を算出し、 この算出結果に基づ いて電力を測定する。 更に、 干渉波電力 +雑音電力測定回路 4 0 4において、 各受信信号 (図 5における白丸の位置) と所望受信信号の位置 (図 5の黒丸 の位置) とのべク トルの 2乗和の平均値からで干渉波電力 +雑音電力を測定 する また、 所望電力測定回路 4 0 3で所望電力を測定する 次いで、 比算 出回路 4 0 5において、 干渉波電力 +雑音電力測定回路 4 0 4及び所望電力 測定回路 4 0 3の出力から比を算出する-, そして、 比較回路 1 9 0 1で測定 した電力比が閾値 3よりも大きい場合は基地局からの送信電力を小さくする ように制御信号を生成し、 測定した電力比が閾値 3よりも小さい場合は基地 局からの送信電力を大きくするように制御信号を生成する。
次に、 制御情報が 3情報の場合について説明するつ 3情報の場合は、 閾値 として閾値 3と閾値 3より も大きい閾値 4を用いる 測定した電力比が閾値 3よりも小さい場合は基地局からの送信電力を大きくするような制御情報を 生成する 測定した電力比が閾値 3よりも大きく、 かつ、 閾値 4よりも小さ い場合は、 基地局からの送信電力をそのまま保持するように制御情報を生成 する。 測定した電力比が閾値 4よりも大きい場合は、 基地局からの送信電力 を小さくするように制御情報を生成する。
更に、 制御情報が 4情報以上の場合は、 閾値数を (制御情報数一 1 ) に設 定して、 複数の閾値の大小関係に基づく閾値判定により細かく分けられた制 御情報を決定する,
これらの方法で算出した送信電力制御情報を多重回路 2 0 6へ送る 3 多重 回路 2 0 6では、 送信データと送信電力制御情報を送信ス口ッ卜に割当てる. このような送信デ一タを変調回路 2 0 7で変調し、 送信 R F回路 2 0 8で周 波数変換し、 増幅する- そしてこの送信信号をアンテナ共用器 2 0 2を通じ てアンテナ 2 0 1から送信する。
このように、 図 1 6に示す基地局装置から送信された下り回線の信号の受 信品質に基づいた送信電力制御信号を図 1 7に示す通信端末装置で生成し、 上り回線で基地局装置に報告する。 基地局装置においては、 上り回線で受信 した通信端末装置が測定した送信電力制御信号に基づいて伝送レートを切り 替える。
ここで、 伝送レート切り替え制御回路の動作について詳しく説明する。 図 2 0は伝送レート切り替え制御を示すフローチヤ一 卜であるつ 基地局装置に おいて、 通信端末装置から報告された送信電力制御情報を積算することによ り受信品質を推定し (S T 5 1 ) 、 閾値 1 と比較する (S T 5 2 ) - この閾 値 1は、 伝送レートに^じて設定するが、 C D VI A通信方式においては、 拡 散率あるいは多重コー 'ぺ'数に応じて設定するつ
受信品質推定値 (S I R推定値) が閾値 1 より も大きい場合は、 回線状態 が良好であると判断して、 そのままの伝送レートを用いる S I R推定値が 閾値 1よりも小さい場合は、 回線状態が悪いと判断して、 伝送レートを 1 / 2の伝送レート (2倍の拡散率) に切り替える (S T 5 3 ) n
このように、 回線推定結果に基づいて伝送レートを切り替えるので、 他へ の干渉量を低減することができる, また、 回線推定に送信電力ビットを用い ているので、 伝送レート制御について特別な制御情報が必要なく、 通信相手 カ ら送信する情報量を減らすことができる。
また、 図 2 1に示すように、 基地局装置において、 通信端末装置から報告 された送信電力制御情報を積算することにより受信品質を推定し (ST6 1) 、 閾値 1と比較して (ST 62) 、 S I R推定値が閾値 1よりも大きい場合は、 回線状態が良好と判断して、 そのままの伝送レートを用い、 S I R推定値が 閾値 1よりも小さい場合は、 回線状態が悪いと判断して、 3 1 1¾を閾値1ょ り大きくなる伝送レートに切り替えるようにしても良い (ST 6 3) 。 これ により、 変動する受信品質に対してより精度良く制御することが可能である。 すなわち、 通信相手との間の通信路状態が急激に劣化した場合でも通信相手 の受信品質を改善できるとともに、 目標受信品質が低くなるために送信電力 が低減され、 他への干渉量を低減することができる, したがって、 伝送レー ト切り替えによる改善効果を向上させることができる。
図 22に示すように、 基地局装置において、 通信端末装置から報告された 送信電力制御情報を積算することにより受信品質を推定し (ST 7 1) 、 閾 値 2と比較して (ST 72) 、 S I R推定値が閾値 2よりも小さい場合は、 回線状態が悪いと判断して、 そのままの伝送レートを用い、 S I R推定値が 閾値 2よりも大きい場合は、 回線状態が良好であると判断して、 伝送レート を 2倍の伝送レート (1Z2の拡散率) に切り替えるようにしても良い (S T 73 ) -. なお、 閾値 2は 2倍の伝送レートに対応し、 閾値 1よりも大きレヽ-, このように、 回線状態が良好であるときに、 伝送レートを上げてできるだ け多くのデータを伝送する-, すなわち、 通信相手との間の通信路状態が良好 な場合、 通信相手の受信品質を保持したまま、 より高速な伝送が可能となるつ なお、 送信電力は増加しないため、 他への干渉量が増加することはない
また、 図 2 3に示すように、 閾値 nを設定し (ST 8 1 ) 、 基地局装置に おいて、 通信端末装置から報告された送信電力制御情報を積算することによ り受信品質を推定し (ST 82) 、 閾値 nとを比較する (ST84) S I R推定値が閾値 nより小さければ、 閾値 nを次に高速な伝送レートである閾 値 n + 1に変更する (ST83) 。 S I R推定値が閾値 nより大きければ、 n番目に高速な伝送レート (拡散率) を設定する (ST85) 。 すなわち、 S ΐ R推定値が 2つの伝送レートに対応する 2つの閾値 ηと閾値 η÷ 1の間 となるような伝送レートに切り替える なお、 閾値 ηは η番目に高速な伝送 レートに対応し、 閾値 n+ 1より大きレ、 この場合、 受信品質を満足すると いう条件下で最も高速な伝送が可能となる これにより、 より正確に回線状 況に応じた伝送レートの制御を行うことができる.
また、 別の伝送レート切り替え制御回路の動作について説明する 例えば、 図 24に示すように、 基地局装置において、 通信端末装置から報告された送 信電力制御情報に基づいて、 要求される送信電力が決定される。 この送信電 力と閾値 4とを比較する (ST91) 0
この閾値 4は、 送信機の限界値又は送信電力を大きくすることによって生 じる他への千渉量にしたがって決定される。 また、 この閾値 4は、 伝送レー トに応じて設定するが、 CDMA通信方式においては、 拡散率あるいは多重 コ一ド数に応じて設定する, すなわち、 1 6倍拡散と 256倍拡散で送信す る場合は、 拡散率で 1 6倍の開きがあるので、 1 6倍拡散時の送信電力の閾 値は 2 56倍拡散時の送信電力の閾値の 1 6倍となる 多重コード数に対し ても同様のことが言える
送信電力が閾値 4よりも小さい場合は、 そのままの伝送レートを用いる-. 送信電力が閾値 4よりも大きい場合は、 他への干渉が大きいと判断して、 伝 送レートを 1/2の伝送レート (2倍の拡散率) に切り替える (ST92) - これにより、 他への干渉量が許容できる範囲内であるという条件下で最適な 又は最も高速な伝送が可能となるつ
また、 図 2 5に示すように、 基地局装置において、 通信端末装置から報告 された送信電力制御情報に基づいて、 要求される送信電力が決定される, こ の送信電力と閾値 4とを比較し ( S T 1 0 1 ) 、 送信電力が閾値 4よりも小 さい場合は、 そのままの伝送レートを用い、 送信電力が閾値 4よりも大きい 場合は、 他への干渉が大きいと判断して、 送信電力が閾値 4よりも小さくな る伝送レート (拡散率) に切り替える (S T 1 0 2 ) 。 これにより、 過剰な 干渉量を発生することを抑制できる。
また、 図 2 6に示すように、 基地局装置において、 通信端末装置から報告 された送信電力制御情報に基づいて、 要求される送信電力が決定される。 こ の送信電力と閾値 5とを比較し (S T 1 1 1 ) 、 送信電力が閾値 5よりも大 きい場合は、 そのままの伝送レートを用い、 送信電力が閾値 5よりも小さい 場合は、 他への干渉が小さいと判断して、 伝送レートを 2倍の伝送レート (1 Ζ 2の拡散率) に切り替えても良い (S T 1 1 2 ) 3 なお、 ここで、 閾値 5 は、 2倍の伝送レートに対応するものであり、 閾値 4より小さレ、
また、 図 2 7に示すように、 閾値 ηを設定し (S T 1 2 1 ) 、 基地局装置 において、 通信端末装置から報告された送信電力制御情報に基づく送信電力 と閾値 ηとを比較する (S T 1 2 3 ) , 送信電力が閾値 ηより大きければ、 閾値 ηを次に高速な伝送レートである閾値 η + 1に変更する ( S Τ 1 2 2 ) 送信電力が閾値 ηより小さければ、 η番目に高速な伝送レート (拡散率) を 設定する (S T 1 2 4 ) , すなわち、 送信電力が 2つの伝送レートに対応す る 2つの閾値 ηと閾値 η + 1の間となるような伝送レートに切り替える, な お、 閾値 ηは η番目に高速な伝送レートに対応し、 閾値 η + 1より小さい: この場合、 他への干渉量をある範囲内に抑制するという条件下で最も高速な 伝送が可能となる
また、 基地局の送信電力設定方法としては、 伝送レートを切り替えるたび に切り替える前の送信電力で送信する方法と、 切り替える前の送信電力から 一定の値だけ小さく して送信する方法、 切り替える前の送信電力から一定の 値だけ大きくして送信する方法がある。
第 1 の方法は、 端末に対して確実に通信品質を改善させるために有効であ る。 この実施の形態における構成では、 伝送レート切り替え制御回路 1 0 6 に入力した送信電力制御信号をそのまま送信 R F回路 1 0 9に送るようにす れば良い。 送信 R F回路 1 0 9においては、 送信電力制御信号に基づいて送 信電力を上下に制御する
第 2の方法は、 伝送レートを切り替える際に送信電力から一定の値を引い て設定する方法である, これは、 端末に対して回線の改善が行われた場合に、 送信電力が大きな値になっているために、 他端末に大きな干渉となっている ことが考えられるからである。 この実施の形態における構成では、 伝送レー ト切り替え制御回路 1 0 6に入力した送信電力制御信号を、 伝送レート切り 替え時に一定値だけ送信電力を小さくするような制御信号に変更すれば良い 送信 R F回路 1 0 9においては、 送信電力制御信号に基づいて送信電力を上 下に制御する その際に、 送信電力制御量積算値も一定値分小さくする必要 がある
第 3の方法は、 他への干渉量が許容できる範囲内で送信電力を上げる方法 であり、 通信品質を改善させるために有効であるつ この実施の形態における 構成では、 伝送レート切り替え制御回路 1 0 6に入力した送信電力制御信号 を、 伝送レート切り替え時に一定値だけ送信電力を大きくするような制御信 号に変更すれば良い. その際に、 送信電力制御量積算値も一定値分大きくす る必要がある,
小さくする一定値については、 例えば C D M A方式においては、 例えば、 3 d B低減させて送信することにより、 同様の拡散率で通信している通信端 末装置を 1台分だけ、 増やすことができるようになる-.
また、 送信電力制御情報と共に、 実施の形態 1で説明した方法で、 通信端 末装置から受信品質情報を報告しても良い, なお、 通信端末装置から基地局 装置への報告方法や、 そのタイミングについては実施の形態 1 と同様である-, そして、 伝送レート切り替え制御は、 通常は送信電力制御情報の積算値に 基づいて行い、 通信端末装置側の受信品質が急激に悪くなつた場合は、 通信 端末装置側から受信品質情報を基地局装置に報告し、 基地局装置において伝 送レート切り替え制御を行う。 また、 基地局装置において通信端末装置から の ARQ制御情報等の S送要求が発生したタイミングで、 通信端末装置に受 信品質の測定要求を送り、 通信端末装置で受信品質を測定し、 基地局装置に 報告する。 基地局装置では、 報告された受信品質に基づいて伝送レート切り 替え処理を行う。
次に、 上記実施の形態 1及び 2で説明した伝送レート制御方法のレイヤ間 における制御について説明する 図 28は、 レイヤ間の伝送レート制御を説 明するための図である。
この制御においては、 図 28に示すように、 レイヤ 3における無線リ ソー ス制御 (RRC) 層で設定された許容送信電力 (P2U ) をレイヤ 1 (物理層) に送る レイヤ 1では、 許容送信電力 (PsU2,) に基づいて平均送信電力と比 較する。 そして、 「許容送信電力に到達した」 若しくは 「許容送信電力を超 えた」 、 あるいは 「許容送信電力より X d B低い」 のようなメッセージ (M PHY— STATUS) がレイヤ 1からレイヤ 2の媒体アクセス制御 (MA C) 層に示される なお、 許容送信電力は、 無線リ ソース制御層 (レイヤ 3) により トラフィック状況などのシステムの負荷に応じて適宜設定されるつ ここで、 「許容送信電力に到達した」 若しくは 「許容送信電力を超えた」 というメッセ一ジは、 回線状態が悪いと判断して伝送レートを下げる必要が あることを示す また、 「許容送信電力より X d B低い」 というメッセ一ジ は、 回線状態が回復して伝送レートが上げられることを示す,
具体的な制御について、 図 2 9を用いて説明する。 ここでは、 下り回線の 場合について説明する— まず、 無線リソース制御層で下り回線の条件を監視 し、 無線リ ソース制御層 (レイヤ 3) と媒体アクセス制御層 (レイヤ 2) の ネゴシエーションにより下り回線の初期の伝送レートを決定する その後、 通信に入る
通信中、 ST 1 3 1では、 レイヤ 1において、 少なくとも 1フレームの平 均送信電力 (P ) が監視される この回線状況に応じて伝送レートが制御 されることになる。
まず、 この平均送信電力 (P3VE) と許容送信電力 (PALLw) とが比較され、 両者の差 (D=P3UW— P ) が求められる。 そして、 ST 1 32で、 平均送 信電力 (P3VS) が許容送信電力 (Ρ311。.„.) を超えるかどうかが判断される。 平 均送信電力 (P3,..J が許容送信電力 (P UJ を超えていれば、 S T 1 3 3に おいて、 「許容送信電力に到達した」 若しくは 「許容送信電力を超えた」 と レ、ぅメッセージが示される。
このメ ッセージにしたがって媒体アクセス制御層 (レイヤ 2) で伝送レー トを下げて、 レイヤ 1では、 総送信電力を減少させる。 これにより、 他の通 信端末に対する干渉を小さくする,
平均送信電力 (PSVJ が許容送信電力 (P5U ) を超えていなければ、 S T 1 3 4において、 その差が所定量 (PSCS。) 以上あるかどうかを判断する こ の PSTEPは、 伝送レートを下げたときに、 その変更した伝送レートと元の伝送 レ一トとの間に対応する電力ステップである。
平均送信電力 (PSVFI) と許容送信電力 (PSU。- との間の差 (D) が所定量 (PSRJ よりも小さければ、 伝送レートはそのままとする。 また、 平均送信 電力 (P ) と許容送信電力 (ΡΪΊ1 ;) との間の差 (D) が所定量 (Ρ :) よりも大きければ、 S T 1 3 5において、 レイヤ 1は 「許容送信電力より X d B低レ、」 というメッセ一ジを示すつ そして、 このメッセージにしたがって 媒体アクセス制御層 (レイヤ 2 ) で伝送レートを上げ、 レイヤ 1では、 総送 信電力を X d Bの範囲内で増加させる。 これにより、 伝送レートを下げて 、 たために、 バッファリングしていた送信信号を迅速に送信することができる- なお、 図 2 9においては、 伝送レートを 「上げる」 、 「そのまま」 、 「下 げる」 の判定しかしていないが、 二れに限定されず、 伝送レートを可変にす る指示を自由に設定することができる-,
次に、 上述した伝送レート制御を実際に行う場合について説明する 既存 の伝送レー トの可変方法では、 下り回線はバース ト送信、 上り回線は連続送 信になっている したがって、 これに対応して伝送レートを変える 3 すなわ ち、 下り回線では、 送信電力自体は変更せず、 例えばフレームの前半だけ送 信し、 上り回線では、 送信電力を下げ、 レートマッチングによりフレームに 穴を明けることなく送信する なお、 伝送レートは、 無線リソース制御層 (レ ィャ 3 ) から指定されたレートセットの中から媒体アクセス制御層 (レイヤ 2 ) が選択する 3 このとき、 物理層 (レイヤ 1 ) では、 媒体アクセス制御層 (レイヤ 2 ) で指示された通りに現在の伝送レートを示すヮ一ドを作成して 付加する。
また、 上記伝送レート制御を各基地局で別々に行う場合、 ダイバーシチハ ンドオーバの際に、 取り決めが必要となる。 例えば、 上位レイヤでのネゴシ エーシヨンにおいて全基地局が特定の伝送レートに切り替える方法や、 ダイ バーシチハンドオーバ時に伝送レート制御を行わないようにする方法などが 考えられる。
上記の説明においては、 レイヤ 1で監視するパラメータが送信電力である 場合について説明しているが、 レイヤ 1で監視するパラメータとしては、 F E R、 S I R、 干渉電力などを用いることができるつ
また、 上記の説明においては、 下り回線で図 2 9に示す伝送レート制御を 行う場合について説明しているが、 図 2 9に示す伝送レート制御は上り回線 にも適用することができる 下り回線の場合には、 他への干渉を低減させる 目的で使用されるが、 上り回線の場合には、 他への干渉を低減させる場合の 他に、 省電力化を図る場合ゃハ一ド的制限がある場合に適用されるつ
上記実施の形態 1及び 2においては、 図 1及び図 1 6に示す装置が基地局 装置であり、 図 2及び図 1 7に示す装置が通信端末装置である場合について 説明しているが、 本発明においては、 図 1及び図 1 6に示す装置が通信端末 装置であり、 図 2及び図 1 7に示す装置が基地局装置である場合についても 適用することができる
また、 上記実施の形態 1及び 2においては、 伝送レートを 2倍もしくは 1 / 2倍にした場合について説明しているが、 本発明においては、 種々の条件 により、 伝送レートをそれ以外の倍率にすることも可能である。
以上説明したように本発明の無線通信装置及び伝送レ一ト制御方法は、 例 えば基地局において、 端末が受信品質を測定して決定した基地局の送信電力 制御信号に基づいて基地局の伝送レ一トを切り替えることができる これに より、 移動局の環境や伝送速度に影響されずに、 移動局に対する基地局送信 電力を適切に制御することができる。
本明細書は、 特願平 1 0— 1 0 7 3 0 0号に基づくものである、 その内容 はすべてここに含めておく 産業上の利用可能性
本発明は、 ディジタル無線通信システムにおける基地局装置や通信端末装 置に適用することができる。

Claims

請求の範囲
1 . 通信相手からの受信品質情報に基づいて送信信号の伝送レートを切り替 える伝送レート切り替え手段と、 切り替えられた伝送レートで送信信号を送 信する送信手段と、 を具備する無線通信装置。
2 . 伝送レート切り替え手段は、 受信品質情報における受信品質測定結果が 第 1閾値よりも小さいときに、 1 / 2倍の伝送レ一卜に切り替える請求項 1 記載の無線通信装置。 .
3 . 伝送レート切り替え手段は、 受信品質情報における受信品質測定結果が 第 1閾値よりも小さいときに、 受信品質測定結果が第 1閾値よりも大きくな る伝送レートに切り替える請求項 1記載の無線通信装置
4 . 伝送レー ト切り替え手段は、 受信品質測定結果が前記第 1閾値より大き い第 2閾値よりも大きい場合に、 2倍の伝送レートに切り替える請求項 3記 載の無線通信装置。
5 . 伝送レート切り替え手段は、 受信品質情報における受信品質測定結果に 対して受信品質を満足し、 かつ最も高速伝送が可能な伝送レートに切り替え る請求項 1記載の無線通信装置。
6 . 通信相手からの送信電力制御情報に基づいて前記通信相手の受信品質を 推定する受信品質推定手段と、 この受信品質推定結果に基づいて送信信号の 伝送レ一トを切り替える伝送レ一ト切り替え手段と、 切り替えられた伝送レ 一トで送信信号を送信する送信手段と、 を具備する無線通信装置-,
7 . 受信品質推定手段は、 送信電力制御情報を積算することにより受信品質 を推定し、 伝送レート切り替え手段は、 その受信品質推定結果が閾値より も 小さい場合に 1 / 2倍の伝送レ一トに切り替える請求項 6記載の無線通信装
8 . 受信品質推定手段は、 送信電力制御情報を積算することにより受信品質 を推定し、 伝送レ一ト切り替え手段は、 受信品質推定結果が第 1閾値よりも 小さい場合に、 受信品質が第 1閾値よりも大きくなる伝送レ一トに切り替え る請求項 6記載の無線通信装置。
9 . 受信品質推定手段は、 送信電力制御信号を積算することにより受信品質 を推定し、 伝送レート切り替え手段は、 受信品質推定結果が前記第 1閾値よ り大きい第 2閾値よりも大きい場合に 2倍の伝送レートに切り替える請求項 8記載の無線通信装置。
1 0 . 受信品質推定手段は、 送信電力制御信号を積算することにより受信品 質を推定し、 伝送レート切り替え手段は、 受信品質推定結果に対して受信品 質を満足し、 かつ最も高速伝送が可能な伝送レートに切り替える請求項 6記 載の無線通信装置。
1 1 . 通信相手からの送信電力制御情報に基づいて送信信号の伝送レートを 切り替える伝送レート切り替え手段と、 切り替えられた伝送レートで送信信 号を送信する送信手段と、 を具備する無線通信装置。
1 2 . 伝送レー ト切り替え手段は、 送信電力制御情報における送信電力が闞 値よりも大きいときに、 1 / 2倍の伝送レートに切り替える請求項 1 1記載 の無線通信装置。
1 3 . 伝送レート切り替え手段は、 送信電力制御情報における送信電力が第 1閾値よりも大きいときに、 送信電力が第 1閾値よりも小さくなる伝送レ一 トに切り替える請求項 1 1記載の無線通信装置。
