PUBLIC TELEPHONE HAVING DISPLAYING PART
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a public telephone which m addition to providing the functions of current telephones, provides a display area where advertisements and/or public information messages may be displayed.
BACKGROUND ART
Generally, a public telephone contains throughout its mam frame a handset, a handset holder, a com and/or card insertion slot, a com exchange slot, an amount indicator, and a dial keypad plus special function buttons(hereιn referred to as 'key buttons'). Despite the simplicity of the functions of current telephones compared to its size, the fact that the vaπous elements are scattered throughout the mam frame causes current telephones to occupy a large amount of space to serve its purpose.
Therefore, the space occupied by current telephones ultimately is a waste in terms of efficient space utilization.
Nowadays, there is a lot of publications each kind of leaflet or informative paper These provide a person with useful informations keeping in step with society of information. These are arrange m the stand on the road can pick-up. The stand has problem like that can destroy a beauty of city and can have a burglary of damage because it is located on the road It is not distributed enough on account of cost that is established. The pπnts m the stand have problems that is blow of for winds and is wet for snows or rams.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is disclosed to solve the aforementioned problems and
it is an object of the present invention to provide a public telephone which in addition to providing the functions of current telephones, provides a display area where advertisements and/or public information messages may be displayed.
In order to achieve the above-objects, the present invention provides a public telephone comprising: a telephone part consisting of a main frame, a handset, a coin and/or card insertion slot, an amount indicator, a coin return slot, and a key button section; and a display part consisting of a display item for advertisements and/or public information messages, and a display area on the main frame to contain the display item.
The display part includes an advertisements box is mounted to the telephone body by a mounting means; a plurality of rotating members disposed inside of the advertisements box; a rotating force transmitting unit for transmitting a rotating force to the rotating members; a driving unit for generating the rotating force for the rotating members; and a plurality of advertising plates attached to the rotating members in longitudinal direction for displaying an advertising message and/or a public information message.
The rotating members are their upper and lower part rotatably coupled to upper and lower frames through rotating member axes and the rotating force transmitting unit comprises of a plurality of gears for transmitting the rotating force from the driving unit to the rotating members.
The rotating members have the three faces and are at their edges disposed with a guide rail inserted the advertising plates thereto.
The present invention comprises a sound generating system including sensing means for sensing the rotating of rotating members; a memory for storing several sounds so that a sound is generated according to the sensing result of the
sensing means; and sound generating means for generating a sound stored in the memory chip.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing the present invention..

DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION
By referring to drawings the desirable operational embodiment of the present invention will now be explained.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the present invention. According to Fig. 1, the public telephone includes a handset 11 located on the left portion of a main frame
10, a telephone part 12 consisting of a coin and/or card insertion slot, an amount indicator, a coin return slot, and key buttons integrated and lined up on the left portion of the main frame, allowing the rest of the area available to be used as a display area.
As shown in Fig. 2, the display part includes an advertisements box 21. The advertisements box 21 is in parallel disposed with a plurality of rotating members 26(preferably six to twelve) for displaying the advertising and/or public information messages by a predetermined time. At this time, all the rotating members 26 rotate at the same time and between each rotating member is formed with a predetermined gap so that each rotating members 26 can be rotated for displaying an advertising and/or public information messages by the all rotating members 26.
The rotating members 26 are consisted of the trivision type so that all rotating
members 26 rotate at the same time for displaying an advertising message. The rotating members 26 have three faces and can display three advertising message by a predetermined time because three different advertising messages are written at the three faces.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view showing principal parts of inside of the advertisements box 21 of the present invention. The rotating members 26 have at their central position the rotating axes 22 which are rotatably coupled to the upper and lower frames 29 and 30 which are disposed at the upper and lower part of the rotating members 26. That is, the upper parts of the rotating axes 22 are coupled to the upper frame 29 and the lower parts of those are coupled to the lower frame 30.
Meanwhile, the lower frame 30 is its lower part disposed with another frame 31. A space is formed between the frames 31 and 30 and the rotating force transmitting unit 24 is disposed in a space for transmitting the rotating force from the driving unit 25 such as a motor disposed at the lower part of the lower frame 30.
The rotating force transmitting unit 24 comprises a gear 32 coupled to the motor axis 25a, a gear coupled to the gear 32 and a gear 34 coupled to the rotating member axes 22.
The rotating force transmitting unit 24 for rotating the rotating members 26 is coupled to another rotating force transmitting unit not shown for rotating other rotating members not shown and enables all rotating members to be rotated in the same direction.
The number of gear and consisting method of the rotating force transmitting unit 24 is achieved by the different method. Fig. 3 is only for example.
The rotating members 26 are at their three faces attached with different
advertising plates 28. For example, if the rotating members 26 are at their edges disposed with the guide rail 35 for being inserted the advertising plates 28, three advertising plates 28 can be inserted to the rotating members 26.
The advertising plates 28 can be attached to the rotating members 26 by the adhere material or by a coupling means such as a bolt.
Meanwhile, the advertising plates 28 can be applied by an acryl advertisement, an advertisement changing a color according to the light and an advertisement coated a material for lighting automatically.
According to the present invention having the above construction, the advertising plates 28 written the advertising or public information message to be displayed are inserted to the guide rail 27 of the rotating members 26 or are attached by the attaching means thereby to be formed a triangular(so called a trivision). Under this state, an electric power source is applied to the motor 25 and the driving force of the motor 25 is transmitted to the rotating members 26 through the gears 32, 33 and 34 of the rotating force transmitting unit 24 thereby to be rotated the rotating members 26 at the predetermined rotating speed. According to the rotation of the rotating members 26 the advertising plates 28 for displaying an advertising message are continuously rotated. Accordingly, the different three advertising messages written in the three faces of the advertising plates 28 are displayed by the predetermined time.
Every time the rotating members 26 are rotated by the predetermined time a sound is generated from the sound generating means 42 on the basis of the sound stored in the memory 41 by the rotating sensing signal of the sensing means 40.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
As the foregoing description, a public telephone of the present invention with
its display features in addition to current telephone features will increase the space utilization efficiency of the public telephone. In other words, through the installation of the public telephone of the present invention in public areas a more effective means of public announcement and information may be offered, while installation in private companies and recreational facilities will offer a more effective means for company advertisements and promotional ads to be displayed.
The advertisements on the public telephone of the present invention will also attract the attention of the users and waiting persons more effectively than those displayed elsewhere, thereby having a more profound effect compared to other advertisements.
