Abstract

Provided herein is a torsional vibration damping system (20) for damping torsional vibrations in a vehicle driveline. The system comprises a driving member (22) adapted to be connected to an engine crankshaft, a damper assembly (30) and a wet clutch assembly (40). The damper assembly has an input member (32), an output member (36) and at least one compliant member (34). The compliant member is operatively disposed between the input member and the output member. By axially spacing the wet clutch (50) from the driving member the wet clutch may be sealed in a housing (42) to provide the advantages of both a torsional vibration damping system and a wet clutch.
