Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine entsprechende Vorrichtung zum Analysieren von chemischen oder biologischen Proben, bei dem man chemische oder biologische Proben und/oder Targets (Sonden) in Form von einzelnen definierten Spots auf eine äussere zylindrische Mantelfläche eines Trägers aufbringt oder in Form von Fluidtröpfchen in Bohrungen füllt, die in der Mantelfläche des Trägers ausgespart sind. Man führt den Träger in eine zu der zylindrischen Mantelfläche im wesentlichen komplementäre Ausnehmung eines Halters ein, beeinflusst die Proben und/oder Targets über physikalische und/oder chemische Wechselwirkungen und analysiert dann die entsprechend modifizierten Spots. Die Erfindung betrifft demnach die Verwendung eines neuartigen Trägersystems zur Untersuchung von chemischen oder biologischen Proben, das sich - im Gegensatz zu herkömlichen planaren Biochips - durch eine zylindrische Geometrie auszeichnet, wobei auf der funktionalisierten Mantelfläche des Zylinders bzw. in in dem Zylindermantel ausgesparte radiale Bohrungen Substanzen aufgebracht, beispielsweise immobilisert werden können. Durch Zusammenwirken mit einem komplementäre Halter wird ein Analysesystem mit eindeutig definierten Reaktionsvolumina realisiert, das einfach standardisierbar und hochgradig automatisierbar ist.
