Abstract

Electroosmotic flow systems containing two or more electroosmotic flow elements (1, 2) which meet at a junction (9). The electroosmotic flow elements (1, 2) may contain porous materials (14, 24) whose terminal portions (11, 12, 21, 22) are shaped to increase the surface area exposed to the fluid at the junction.
