Abstract

A system and method for endosteal implant (36) into the jawbone is provide. The system comprises a tapered, expandable polymer sheath (35) for insertion into the jawbone and a tapered implant (36) insertable into the sheath (35) and causing expansion of the sheath (35) upon insertion. An abutment (42) is coupled to the implant (36) to permit attachment of a dental prosthesis (140).
