Abstract

A method and system for monitoring network devices are provided. In one embodiment, a method for agent-based monitoring of network devices 126 includes selecting a network device 126 from an enterprise network 112. An agent template 136 is selected based on the selected network device 126. An agent object 110 is instantiated based on the agent template 136. The agent object 110 is operable to monitor hardware characteristics of the network device 126.
