Abstract

The present invention related to a method, an alteration unit (100) and a portable electronic device (300, 400) for enabling adjusting the luminance of a visual information presentation unit (110, 302, 402) of a portable electronic device (300, 400), comprising sensing ambient light intensity; and increasing the luminance of the visual information presentation unit (110, 302, 402) if the sensed ambient light intensity increases and decreasing the luminance of the visual information presentation unit (110, 302, 402) if the sensed ambient light intensity decreases.
