Abstract

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a baby or child safety sleeping bag.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

In the modern world, the market for baby and baby products has become an important niche market. The mass production of these items has been substituted for their making in the family circle or for their home-made production according to traditional models.

These articles are generally adapted to a specific use: - articles for the care of the baby or young child;

- articles of clothing;

- sleeping articles;

- articles of porterage;

- travel or travel items. A very common item is children's clothing known as "sleeping bag" or "turbulette".

A garment of this type is disclosed in the French patent application FR-2,779,036 published on December 3, 1999 in the name of the company Jean Poyet. The described model has several improvements over the sleeping bags of the prior art, including a more suitable form when the child must be seated in a car seat equipped with harnesses.

However, this article remains single-use, while others are inspired by traditional models and combine several uses.

An example of an article of this type is the bag disclosed in US Pat. No. 2,597,948 published May 27, 1952 in the name of J. Phillips. The bag is designed to carry a baby over the shoulder, but it also has many pockets that allow you to use the bag as a shopping bag. These bags may also contain the products necessary for the feeding or hygiene of the baby.

Another example is the combination of a baby sleeping bag, a blanket and a baby bag, disclosed in US Patent No. 5,692,257 issued Dec. 2, 1997 to L. Albertieri. This last example is representative of an important category of articles tending to provide a solution to the recurrent problem of moving adults accompanied by their children with a minimum of luggage.

A case in point is that of parents who go to friends' homes for a party, or a weekend, with young children.

The simple displacement of proximity is often transformed into an expedition, even with only one child, since it is necessary to carry:

- a folding bed very heavy and very bulky; - a bag with diapers, wipes, bottle;

- a carry bag.

The disadvantages of this solution are of course the weight and bulk, but also the fact that, to leave, you have to wake up the baby and transfer it from the bed to the carrying bag. In general, it is hardly possible to avoid carrying the bed that the baby knows, because an unusual bedding, especially an adult bed, could pose a safety problem.

Indeed, the baby or young child, anxious in a new environment, could get up and fall or, on the contrary, sink and choke under the covers.

Solutions to the problem of coating safety are known per se.

A first example of a solution to this latter problem is that taught by US Pat. No. 2,693,177 published on November 2, 1954 in the name of D. Barstow. The recommended safety device consists of a harness that holds the child in the center of a large bed by means of straps surrounding the mattress or attached to the feet of the bed.

Another solution, which is described in the French patent application FR-2.184.782 published December 28, 1973 in the name of H. Hübner, combines the sleeping bag with the harness. To do this, a small area of the dorsal side of a sleeping bag is sewn in the center of a mattress pad attached to the mattress by a strap. The child can move like a sleeping bag but can not get up. A similar solution is proposed by US Pat. No. 4,202,052 issued on May 13, 1980 to L. Bilanzich. In order to keep a child in the center of the bed, without reducing comfort, a sleeping bag is integrated into the double median and longitudinal fold of a special fitted sheet held by a strap under the mattress.

The disadvantage of the two solutions above, the fixation of the sleeping bags being actually accessible only under the mattresses, is that the child can not be easily and instantly relieved of the supine position by an adult when needed, for example in case of regurgitation.

In the solution described in US Pat. No. 2,693,177, the harness is fixed by carabiners accessible above the mattress, but the presence of straps in the immediate vicinity of the child is another drawback because these straps can be dangerous.

In order to allow a quick release of the child and to avoid the danger of the straps, the British patent application GB-2 281.510 published on March 8, 1995 in the name of Mr. Sanders and others, proposes to fix a sleeping bag in the center of a bed in a removable manner. The sleeping bag is sewn along a dorsal line on a square of flexible material having the width of the bed, this square itself being held in position on the bed by quick fasteners type "velcro".

The latter type of sleeping bag can be an alternative solution to the bulky folding bed for parents who want to travel "light", but they still have to worry about a carry bag, and a bag with diapers and other things, not to mention the fitted sheet or the special mattress that features velcro strips that cooperate with the ties of the sleeping bag. Not all of the items listed above have, therefore, restricted the number of cases that adults must take when they travel outside their home with their babies or young children to spend an evening, let alone one or more nights, without taking risks.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention therefore aims to design a sleeping bag security, baby or child kid, may no longer make other accessories essential by overcoming the disadvantages of known articles of the state of the art. It is specifically for a baby or child safety sleeping bag of the type of those comprising a baby or young child clothes known in particular under the name of "sleeping bag", or the like, fixed by its face. dorsal on a piece of cloth.

This piece of fabric comprises first fastening means remote from the garment and cooperating detachably with second fastening means intended to be connected to a plurality of static elements, in particular those of a piece of furniture, in particular a bed.

The principle of the invention is that of a safety sleeping bag, baby or child kid, convertible so that it fills more alone the functions of carrying bag and baby bag .

According to the invention, the first fastening means of the piece of fabric thus mutually cooperate with one another in a removable manner and remarkably conform this piece into a carrying bag, alternatively to the fact that these first fastening means removably cooperate with the second fastening means. fixation in the first function of sleeping bag. Advantageously, this piece of fabric is substantially in the shape of a rectangle, and the garment is fixed substantially in the center. The longitudinal axis of the garment also coincides substantially with an axis of symmetry of this rectangle. Preferably, the second fixing means each comprise a strap, or the like, forming a loop. This strap is advantageously of adjustable length, and preferably comprises means for opening and closing.

In order to fulfill also a childcare bag function, the baby or child safety sleeping bag according to the invention is remarkable in that the piece of fabric to which the sleeping bag or garment is attached comprises less a pocket.

For obvious practical purposes, this pocket is advantageously adapted to the storage of at least one strap. It takes advantage of the fact that this pocket is preferably formed by a folded edge of the piece of fabric to which the sleeping bag is attached.

Advantageously, the baby or child safety sleeping bag according to the invention also comprises, at the level of the crotch of the garment, at least one slit intended for the passage of the harness of an additional automobile seat. .

These few essential specifications will have made obvious to the skilled person the advantages provided by the security sleeping bag according to the invention compared to the state of the prior art. The detailed specifications of the invention are given in the description which follows in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. It should be noted that these drawings have no other purpose than that of illustrating the text of the description and therefore do not constitute in any way a limitation of the scope of the invention.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

Figures 1a, 1b and 2 clearly show that the safety sleeping bag 1 according to the invention is composed of several parts: a garment 2 constituting the actual sleeping bag which, in common parlance, is designated by the terms "turbulette" or "sleeping bag" (concerning night bags) or by the terms "angel's nest""(Concerning the day bags).

Such "turbulets" are in the form of a pocket in which the body of the child is placed. This pocket is provided with openings 3, 4, respectively 3 for the head and 4 for the arms of the child. These bags 2 provide the child a comfortable sleeping means while avoiding him to suffocate in sheets and / or blankets of a conventional bed now reserved for older children. This sleeping bag 2 is open on its periphery or on one of its front faces, thanks to a zipper 5 facilitating the insertion of the child.

- A rectangle of fabric 6 resistant, for example 145 cm by 120 cm in the center of which is sewn the "turbulette" 2.

A slot 7 is advantageously arranged in the fabric 6 (as well as in the turbulette 2) at the crotch to allow the installation, in a car seat, of the child tucked into the safety sleeping bag 1 according to the invention.

The fabric rectangle 6 is provided substantially at the four points A, B, C, D with first attachment means 8, 9 formed by the elements 8, 9 of a standard hook system, of the type used for the articles. camping for example.

Two first "female" fasteners 8 are on the same AB side of the fabric rectangle 6 (the child 's head 3, for example), and two first "male" fasteners 9 are on the other side CD ( feet, for example), or vice versa.

The two edges AD, BC, which will be the longest edges, therefore located on the sides of the child, are folded on themselves about 20 cm inwards, and closed (by zippers, Velcro , for example) . The above features make it possible to easily use the safety sleeping bag 1 according to the invention in several circumstances: a) for sleeping

To fix the sleeping bag 1 to the bed, it suffices to pass the four straps 12 around the four bed legs, and then to fix them to the rectangle of fabric 6 by means of the hooking system 8, 9, 14, 15.

Then, just adjust the straps 12 so that the fabric 6 is stretched to the maximum.

The safety sleeping bag 1 according to the invention is particularly convenient because, without any handling, just by bending down to the ground level, and without any effort, it is installed on any bed.

Its very low weight allows it to require no effort on the part of the one who uses it.

Its very small footprint makes it easy to store it in a very small space.

In terms of safety, the baby or young child is "fixed" to the bed.

Whatever the size or height of the bed, the sleeping bag 1 is fixed with as much security. The straps 12 and the storage pockets 10, 11 are not accessible to him to avoid any risk of strangulation.

The elastic band 13 allows the child to move for greater comfort but prevents him from getting on his stomach, a very dangerous position.

In terms of hygiene, the safety sleeping bag (excluding straps 12, which are removable) is composed exclusively of fabric (preferably cotton) and is therefore washed in the washing machine as many times as necessary.

This arrangement is also satisfactory in terms of safety because there is no risk that the child can access the pockets 10, 11.

As for the hygiene, the fabric 6 being machine washed as many times as necessary, it is always as clean as the parents wish. c) for the portage The baby or child safety sleeping bag according to the invention is conveniently converted into a carrying bag according to the traditional "African banana" model, as shown in Figures 3a and 3b.

The shape of the carrying bag obtained by transforming the sleeping bag makes it possible to transport the baby or young child in conditions of comfort and safety already experienced by existing systems (long-standing, these systems being inspired in particular by those used by women in African countries).

Its low weight and shape ensure the wearer comfort and practicality. As we have already seen, the sleeping bag (without the straps, which are removable) is composed exclusively of fabric (preferably cotton) and wash in the washing machine as many times as necessary; it is the same for the bag of portage resulting from its transformation. d) for transport by car The fabric rectangle 6 and the turbulette 2 are split at the crotch.
