Abstract

An illumination apparatus (10), comprising at least one light emitting source (12) embedded in a waveguide material (14) is disclosed. The waveguide material (14) is capable of propagating light generated by light emitting source(s) (12), such that at least a portion of the light is diffused within the waveguide material (14) an exits through at least a portion of its surface (16).
