Abstract
The contrivance applied on level immobilisation and correction of extremities at human and veteriny medicine pass on problems today medicine practice at immobilisation of fractured or injured extremities - most often by plaster cast -which we recognize like the disturbance of fisiological processes into the tissue which is pressed and loaded by compact and weighty plaster cast plating. The level, stiff, flat sticks (2) installed along fractured or wounded extremity adhere to it steady, equilisely, not restraining it over the medical needs because theese sticks are tightened by minimal one piece of elastic spiral (1) twined round the extremity. In this, the osteofragments are rightly (anatomically) fixed without surgery, and it is not disturbed to bloodstream neither respiration of skin at treated extremity. In function of orthose, this contrivance is applied on correction of joint contractions till 20 degrees deflection and in this function it is more efficient, more practical and more economical than today used orthoses.
Description
THE CONTRIVANCE TO LEVEL IMMOBILISATION AND CORRECTION (RECTIFICATION) OF EXTREMITIES
Area of the invention
This invention concern the instrument to optimal therapy of bone fractures and another strong wounds of extremities (when it is need its immobilisation) and also therapy of deformations of extremities, mostly contractures of joints till 20 degrees.
Technical problem
Technical problem refer to construction and application special contrivance intended for resolving to optimal healing of fractured (or hard injured) extremities when it is need therapical immbilisation of wounded area but by such treatment and material which are the most functional and the most lightly bearable for patients.
For resolving to rectification of contracted joints (of finger etc.) we need orthoses which will be practical, simple, economical and, of course, maximal efficient correcting instruments.
The aim is to have optimal, simple, adaptable, repeat used instrument to double function (effect): therapical immobilisation and rectification of extremities.
State of art
Preasant condition of medical technics and practice in this area - the most fractured or injured extremities are performed by plaster cast («gypsum») what is not good resolving because: fractured or injured extremity is loaded more else by very heavy material
- plaster cast often press treated extremity disturbing bloodstream through it
- plaster cast inhibit skin respiration at treated area because it is compact and unpermable
- it mako unflexibile plating which is not able to fixed bone fragments preciselly
It is why in medicine practice fractured extremities are mostly fixed by surgical operation before installing plaster cast. And such operation is always shock for organism of patient and health risk for him.
At correction of joint contractures we have now nonpractice and unadaptibile orthoses only. s
On example, an orthose is ingredient of tree tiles - two ones opposite the third, and wire rod which tie them protrude considerably over the surface of finger or other extremity which is treated by such orthose. Another orthoses are made from hard, unadaptibile plastic material, in much «numbers».
Essence of the invent
Essence of this invent is resolving of the conrtivance which its element and thair interaction enable better effectsof therapic immobilisation of fractured or injured extremities and, in same time, right fix bone fragments adhering to immobilised extremity equalisely, not press it over the curative necessity. Therefore application of this contrivance at treatment of fractured extremities gives result to right healing of bones without surgical fixing. Also, flexibile, adaptibile and relative slight elements - tapely elastic spirals (1) and stiff flat sticks (2) - are permeable to introduct of oxigen to immobilised area. So, application of the contrivance from this invent is therapical much more purposeful, more pleasant for patients and more simple in everyday medical practice than immobilisation by plaster cast and, especially, than surgical fastening fractured bones. Besides, this contrivance make possible selfhelp in special situations. In function of orthose this contrivance unite efficiency, practicallity and economicallity.
Detailed description of realisation and application of this invent
In the direction of this invent, the contrivance composed of two separated elements which installed to assemblage from several such elements, according to the needs. Elastic tapely spiral (1) embrace to treated extremity fixing level, flat, stiff sticks (2) installed paralelly along the extremity, between the extremity and the spiral (l).Than, we roll the second spiral (1) over the first one that the immobilisation be enough stable. Treating area has be protecting by layer of wad in gause, previously.
The spirals (1) are made of thin unrusting tin - its thinnes is 0,3 mm, its width is 5-12 mm, depended of the volume of extremity which is immobilised.
The sticks (2) have to be unbrittle and unflexibile, relative unweighty (inox metallic or wooden or plastic), its width would be 0,5-5 cm - the most often 3 cm, 2 cm or 1 cm width. Because it is necessairy varilly lenght of sticks (2), it is practically that sticks (2) be folding (to look pat. claim 11.).
At making the orthose by application this technical determination it is required 1-2 pieces of tin elastic spiral tapes (1) rolled around the sticks (2) (in adequate dimensions and number) and contracted extremity.
For example - treatmant on forarm' s fracture to grown-up person
After repositionong to bone fragments (returning to fragments at anatomic posture) and treatmant on open wound (if it is the case), forarm will be protected by layer of wad in gause. Than, such protected forarm will be banded by elastic spiral tape (1) along whole immobilising area. In this case it's need 3-4 m of this tape,10-12 mm width. Between the spiral (1) and the forarm it will be placed 2-4 pieces of level, flat, stiff sticks (2), longitudinally. The sticks (2) are wide 2-3 cm (in this case). Than it is needed to stretch both ends of the spiral (1). We will to make that this immobilisation be stable by the second spiral (1) rolled over the first one and we will also stretch both ends of the second spiral. We put treated forarm at handholder, on the end. Aplication of the orthose, in way of this invent , is displayed allready.
Way of application
This invent has extend usability on traumatological, ortopedical and veteriny practice like the contrivance for realisation optimal therapical immobilisation and correction of extremities. Elements of contrivance according this invent - elastic tapely spirals(l) and level, flat, stiff sticks (2), in needed dimensions are simple to produce from disposabiling materials. And specialised producingof theese elements can be economical interesting.
