Abstract

A bone fastening assembly (31) for use with a screw (34) and including a bone plate (32) and a bushing (33) having a bore (74) adapted for receiving the screw. The bone plate has a substantially planar portion and is provided with a hole (56) in the portion for receiving the bushing. The portion of the bone plate and the bushing are cooperatively configured for providing pivotal movement of the bushing within the hole about a pivot axis (127) and restricting the pivot axis to a plane extending in the portion of the bone plate. A new bone attachment screw for use with the bone fastening assembly is provided.
