Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[15] Hereinafter, a detailed description of the present invention will be given with reference to the appended drawing.
[16] The process of manufacturing artificial jewelry exhibiting a clear and transparent pink, red, yellow, or violet color is described.
[17] A first process - a mixing process 1, in which, when the Au (gold) is added, the addition of Au is performed in the same manner as in a general glass production process, and when the gold chloride is added, the addition of gold chloride (AuCl, AuCl 2 , AuCl 3 , AuCl 4 , HAuCl 4 ) is performed by adding materials which have already been blended, except gold chloride, manually stirring them, and then adding gold chloride to the materials which have already been blended. [18] A second process - a melting process 2, in which the material composition obtained in the previous process is heated to 1300~1500°C at 2a to thus melt it. [19] A third process - a molding process 3, in which the melt obtained in the second process is loaded into a mold to thus obtain a product having a predetermined shape.
The molding process may be performed manually or automatically. [20] A fourth process - a slow cooling process 4, the temperature required therefor being set in the range of 450~500°C. [21] A fifth process - a cutting and polishing process 5, in which the molded product is subjected to finishing treatment.
[22] A sixth process - a heat treatment process 6, in which the product is subjected to final heat treatment at 500~550°C. When the heat treatment is performed, the color of the molded product becomes much more vivid, and furthermore, a new color is represented, thus making it possible to use the product as artificial jewelry.
[23] A seventh process - an inspection process 7, in which the finished product is selected.
[24]
[25] Specifically, the technical characteristic of the present invention resides in that, in the material mixing process, ® when gold chloride (AuCl, AuCl , AuCl , Aucl , HAuCl ) or Au powder (gold powder) is added to soda (alkali) lime silica glass (soda lime glass), in the case of gold chloride, 0.2-5 wt% of gold chloride and 0.1-2 wt% of SnO is added to the soda lime silica glass, and in the case of Au powder, 0.2-5 wt% of Au powder and 0.1- 2 wt% of SnCl is added to the soda lime silica glass.
[26] In addition, ® when Au powder or gold chloride is added to crystal glass, in the case of Au powder, 0.2-5 wt% of Au powder and 0.01-2 wt% of Sb O is added to the crystal glass, and in the case where gold chloride is added to the crystal, 0.2-5 wt% of gold chloride and 0.01-2 wt% of Sb O are added.
[27] JX- The reason why the composition ratio of Au Powder or gold chloride (AuCl,
AuCl , AuCl , Aucl , HAucl ) and SnO or Sb O is such a wide range is that artificial
2 3 4 4 2 2 3 jewelry is to be processed and produced within a range suitable for economic benefits and changes in color and temperature.
[28] According to the method of manufacturing artificial jewelry of the present invention, Au Powder or gold chloride is added to material for soda lime silica glass or crystal glass, thereby producing material for artificial jewelry having a beautiful color.
[29] The glass products, obtained using the materials in the composition ratio according to the present invention, represent beautiful colors which are different from those of products made from conventional soda lime silica glass or crystal glass. This is believed to be due to interactions between gold powder or gold chloride and SnO or Sb O , as the added materials.
2 3
[30] In particular, in the case where crystal glass material is used, only when Sb O is added along with Au powder or gold chloride can a beautiful color suitable for jewelry appear. [31] Also, in the case of using the soda lime silica glass material, SnO should be used along with Au powder or gold chloride. [32] Below, the technical superiority of the present invention is intended to be proven with reference to the results of various specific tests. [33] [34] <Case of using Crystal Glass Material> [35] In order to evaluate the effectiveness of Sb O , the test was conducted as shown in
2 3
Table 1 below.
[36] Table 1
Figure imgf000005_0001
[37] As is apparent from Table 1, when a molding process and a slow cooling process were performed without the addition of Sb O , a vivid color did not appear even when using either Au Powder or AuCl 4. Further, even if a subsequent heat treatment process was performed at 55O0C for 3 hr or 10 hr, the product was not colored. Thus, in order to realize a beautiful color, the addition of Sb O was confirmed to be essential.
[38] In addition, the test was conducted with changes in the amount of Au Powder. The results are shown in Table 2 below. [39] Table 2
Figure imgf000005_0002
Figure imgf000006_0001
[40] As is apparent from Table 2, when the amount of Sb O was set at 1.0 wt% and the amount of Au was gradually increased from 0.05 wt% to 1, 3, and 5 wt%, the color of the finally heat treated product was gradually deepened from pink to red. As in Code No. GG3, also in the case where the amount of Au was set at 0.05 wt% and the amount of Sb O was increased from 1 wt% to 2 wt%, the product was seen to be a red color.
2 3
[41] In addition, the test was conducted with changes in the amount of Sb O in the state in which the amount of Au was not changed. The results are shown in Table 3 below. [42] Table 3
Figure imgf000006_0002
Figure imgf000007_0001
[43] As is apparent from Table 3, when a product made in a state in which the amount of
Au was set at 0.5 wt% and the amount of Sb O was changed was finally heat treated, the color thereof was gradually deepened from transparent pink to violet in direct proportion with the increase in the amount of Sb O . In Code No. GG35, the color of the product was changed to be pink. This means that the color of the product can be relatively lightened when the amount of Sb O is too large. Therefore, it is found that a critical point for attaining an optimal color exists.
[44] The results of the test in which AuCl was added are given in Table 4 below.
[45] Table 4
Figure imgf000007_0002
Figure imgf000008_0001
[46] As is apparent from the above table, when the amount of Sb O was not changed and the amount of AuCl was increased, the product was colored a deeper red.
4
[47] In addition, the test results when the amount of AuCl was not changed and the
4 amount of Sb O was changed are given in Table 5 below.
[48] Table 5
Figure imgf000008_0002
Figure imgf000009_0001
[49] As is apparent from Table 5, when the amount of AuCl was not changed and the
4 amount of Sb O was increased, the products were colored deep purple, purple, and
2 3 pink.
[50] [51] <Case of using Soda Lime Silica Glass Material> [52] In the case of crystal glass, Sb O was confirmed to greatly affect the coloring of the product. On the other hand, in the case of soda lime silica glass, SnO functioned as the main variable, which can be confirmed with reference to the following test results.
[53] Table 6
Figure imgf000009_0002
Figure imgf000010_0001
[54] As is apparent from Table 6, in the case where the soda lime silica glass material was used, the degree of coloring was confirmed to vary depending on the amount of SnO , in addition to gold chloride or gold powder.
