Abstract

This invention relates to the detection and analysis by mass spec of nascent proteins, and in particular truncated proteins, translated with cell-free translation systems using isotopically-depleted amino acids. N-terminal and C-terminal epitopes introduced into these nascent proteins permit rapid and efficient isolation, as well as a mass difference.
