Abstract

本発明のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法は、プラズマディスプレイパネルの走査電極(SC1~SCn)を2つの走査電極群に分割し、サブフィールドの書込み期間を2つの走査電極群に対応する2つの書込み期間に分割し、少なくとも一方の書込み期間において、一方の走査電極群に属する走査電極(SC1,SC3,・・・)には、走査パルス電圧(Vad)よりも高い第2の電圧(Vs2)から前記走査パルス電圧(Vad)に遷移し再び前記第2の電圧(Vs2)に遷移する走査パルスを順次印加し、他方の走査電極群に属する走査電極(SC2,SC4,・・・)には、前記走査パルス電圧(Vad)より高い第3の電圧(Vs3)と、前記第2の電圧(Vs2)及び前記第3の電圧(Vs3)より高い第4の電圧(Vs4)とのいずれかの電圧を印加し、少なくとも隣接する走査電極(SC1,SC3,・・・)に前記走査パルス電圧(Vad)が印加されている間は前記第3の電圧(Vs3)を印加する。
