Abstract

 本発明は、アクティブマトリクス型の表示装置ならびにその駆動方法に関する。  各行の上下両側にゲートバスラインを備える。隣接する2本のソースバスラインと2本のゲートバスラインとで囲まれる領域には、2個の副画素が形成される。奇数行目(PsO)においては、上記2個の副画素のうち左側の副画素については、上側のゲートバスラインより走査信号が供給され、左側のソースバスラインより映像信号が供給される。一方、右側の副画素については、下側のゲートバスラインより走査信号が供給され、右側のソースバスラインより映像信号が供給される。偶数行目(PsE)においては、走査信号が供給されるゲートバスラインが奇数行目(PsO)とは逆にされる。ゲートバスラインは1本ずつ順次に選択され、各水平走査期間には、全ての映像信号の極性が同じにされる。
