Abstract

One aspect of the invention relates to a user interface for operating a speed-regulating system of a motor vehicle. The user interface comprises a speedometer-scale display with a display region for displaying the current speed of the vehicle as a mark in the display region. Also provided is a view-detection arrangement for detecting the driver's view. Further provided is a user interface-control arrangement which, on the basis of a position of the point of sight of the driver on the speedometer scale display, which position is determined by means of the view-detection arrangement, determines for the speed-regulation system a speed which is associated with the position of the point of sight. This speed value is preset for the speed-regulating system as the desired speed for regulating the speed.
