Prior Art Finder features have been integrated into Google Patents, along with new features that make finding prior art even easier:
  • a single ranked list of patent and non-patent results from Google Scholar and Google Books
  • machine-classification and searching of non-patent documents with CPC codes
  • a more powerful query entry interface (synonyms, full metadata restricts)
  • similar documents at the bottom of each result
  • ...and more!
As a result, the Prior Art Finder will begin redirecting to Google Patents soon.
The Prior Art Finder scans text for key phrases, combines them into a set of search queries, and displays the results from Google Patents, Google Scholar, Google Books, and the rest of the web. You can enter your text into the text area above, or find prior art for a particular patent application or grant by entering an identifier such as US20120309256 or EP1692064B1.
