Pros: cool and quiet; low power, no external connector needed; bang for the buck; can be repurposed to HTPC or PhysX
My girlfriend enjoyed Left 4 Dead 2, but she had to play at minimum settings on a 1680x1050 22" LCD, in other words: blurry graphics, pixelized everything, and lack of special effects. I suggested this card, and she is happy with the nice kick in performance. For the (after rebate) price, there is nothing in the same league as this card. Once overclocked, it is within striking distance of the 8800 GT, which is pretty impressive when you consider that 4 years ago, an 8800 GT was the second-fastest available graphics card on the market. The card runs quiet and cool and doesn't even need an external PCIe power connector, since it draws less than 75 watts, which means it can get all its power from the PCI Express x16 slot itself. You can also repurpose this card to be a dedicated PhysX card if you upgrade to something more powerful later on, or use it in an HTPC since it runs so quiet and cool. This is definitely a good card to get for low-to-midrange resolutions and games. It won't play Crysis that well, but it runs older games like L4D2 like a dream (she cranks maximum settings in that game now, except for AA) and even newer games like Fallout 3 are very playable (~30 frames per second).
