    What's great about it: Sound Quality ... What's not so great: Will not stay in Standby Mode rendering remote control useless, Pioneer support "Bought the Pioneer VSX1019 on 1/14/10 at local BB to drive Def Tech ProCinema 800 speakers with PS3 and Sony KDL 40" XBR. BB has been great to deal with. Went through installation process. Everything worked fine and as promised. Used for a short while, came back and the Pioneer wouldn't turn on with either the Pioneer remote or programmed Comcast remote. Had to manually turn-on and all was fine.... remotes worked. Came back in morning and same thing occurred...AVR had gone to sleep and remotes were inoperative until unit was manually turned-on. Called Pioneer and spoke to polite CS rep who told me that they are having this problem and "the engineers are working on it". I asked for an ETA on a firmware fix and they wouldn't/couldn't provide one. I returned AVR to BB and got a new identical one. Again, BB was great and was understanding. It is doing effectively the same thing. I wrote Pioneer CS an e-mail and got the same response that they were "sorry" but they didn't know when it would be addressed. I checked other AV forums and this problem has been cited since early 2009. I don't understand why Pioneer hasn't addressed it and yet knowingly continues to sell and ship defective units. IN the meantime the clock is running on BB's 30 day return policy. While this is not a huge inconvenience (manually turning it on) keep in mind that if you use this… more »
