Alight Learning

The traditional American education system is obsolete. It is not designed for the fundamentally different digital natives of today.  Alight Learning (www.alightlearning.com) reengages students, advances personalized learning, promotes self-directed learning and discovery, and improves communication by providing a free and secure online learning environment for primary and secondary school teachers, parents, and students.  Users synchronously work on collaborative goal-driven activities, share community-ranked resources, provide authentic assessment, and automatically build holistic portfolios of student work.  Alight Learning is the catalyst for promoting change in modern educational pedagogies and bringing valuable technology into schools. Driving this endeavor are six students from the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, who have all taken a year-long entrepreneurial sabbatical to dedicate to the success of Alight Learning.
