Ariane Beldi

I have a diverse educational and professional path, which meshes together science, humanities and social sciences, US and Swiss academic systems, professional and academic experiences. All of this is now culminating in my attempt to gain a doctoral degree in sociology at the doctoral school in Media & Communication Studies of the University of Geneva, Switzerland. My present research project brings together topics and issues I have been dealing with separately in the past, that is, the study of the appropriation of technologies by people and the evolution of audiovisual media. It focuses on the role played by the DVD in the distribution and reception of Japanese animated TV series in Switzerland.
