I have served in various capacities which included CLO, Director of Distance Learning, online instructor/trainer, (e)learning implementation specialist; analysis, design, development and implementation of learning strategies for classroom- and web-based learning with an emphasis on distributed and collaborative learning environments. I taught online and trained instructors at most of the 64 SUNY campuses, made presentations at national and international symposia, published numerous (e)learning and scientific articles and papers and continue to develop and revise online courses and training using both asynchronous (Angel, Blackboard, edu20. Studeous,TopClass, WebCT, etc.), synchronous (Centra, Elluminate, HorizonLive, iLinc, WebTrain, Yugma) software and Web 2.0 tools.
I'm interested in the added value of (e)learning in teaching-learning and technology in business, education and government. I have worked with both business and educational institutions that are interested in using asynchronous and/or synchronous web-based instruction to enhance their strategic (e)learning environments. I have 26 years experience as a professor in the SUNY system and more than 20 years of hands-on teaching, learning and technology consulting experience that involved the implementation of enterprise systems for higher education institutions (Pennsylvania State System, San Francisco State University, Deakin University - Melbourne Austalia, University of West Indies and others) and Global 2000 companies (Nokia, Dow, Bayer, ST Microelectonics, and others). I consider myself a dedicated and accomplished educator as well (general biology, molecular biology, immunology, information/educational technology). In 1978 I received the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching.
e-Learning means Connectivity, Communication, Collaboration, and Content (4Cs) and connects people to people and people to information and involves the 3Rs; namely, getting the Right content to the Right people at the Right time.
