- About me
I use computers creatively & avoid office-type applications whenever possible! My personal history of computing started in the early 1980s after a computer fayre at Brum's NEC. I got my Sinclair ZX81 soon after and progressed through Atari STEs to IBM clones and eventually iMacs.
It is not uncommon for artists to be technophobes (scared of using technlogy) and techies aesthetophobes (no sense of taste!). I would like to bridge the gap creatively and intend to link to websites of artists and designers who succeed in that goal as well as techies who have good design skills (e.g. the creators of WordPress use the phrase “code is poetry” and on a certain level I understand what they mean). Some examples of sites I have come across can be found on delicious.com/damolward.
I strongly believe that teachers, as well as pupils, can be empowered through new technology. I am lucky to have a job where technology, innovation and education collide. If you would like to share some of my thoughts on these, follow me on twitter.com/damoward.
My major professional & leisure preoccupations this year are: film production, photography, 3D technology, animation techniques, new media development and radio production. I am seeking the grails of using social networking sites, online video and games in educational contexts.
I am currently a CLC Curriculum Manager and studying for an MSc in E-learning and Multimedia.
