Roberto Castillo - A lot has been written about the right and left wing echo chambers that people put themselves into. Right Wingers who only watch Fox News and Left Wingers who only read The Daily Kos and so forth. In a way, Beck's rally and the Tea Party rallies are in a way physical manifestations of the effects of living in an echo chamber. You have a lot of people convinced that the country has lost its way pining away for an America which never existed except in their own minds.
You have a similar display of this effect with leftie activists like Code Pink but they are far fewer and much more marginalized by society. It's interesting how everybody insists that Beck is not their leader - they are essentially parroting the hippie anarchists of the '60s with their "leaderless" groups. I would expect that twenty years ago, "Tea Partier" will probably have derogatory connotations similar to the ones that word "hippie" does today.Sep 2DeleteUndo deleteReport spamNot spam
