Father, Maker, Drummer. I'm married to Charlotte, a metallurgist. We have four kids and step-kids, three cats, and two dogs. I enjoy creating far-out contraptions with kids.
My own father is a retired professor and botanist with a penchant for the unique flora found in bogs, and my mother is a retired primary school teacher.
You really want to know about the brainy stuff? I have pretty diverse interests that include graph layout, statistical inference and hardware. My MS work was on teaching computers to play Go. My PhD work was on computer languages. Since then I worked on Java at Sun and search quality at Google. I think too much.
