  • About me

I’m a 19 year old distance education student at Curtin University studying for a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Internet Studies (perhaps Internet Communication if I don’t register intention before the name change). I love the Internet, it provides many opportunities to communicate, and therefore express oneselfs in many varied forms. It is also a valuable source of information and entertainment — the result of the people’s expression! I guess the main way I’ve expressed myself on the web is through code, and code is like poetry althouggh I would like to expand this.

I live down under in Victoria, Australia. Right near a lovely beach that I should visit more often. I guess I like Australia somewhat, but I think we are a little too laid back and informal. We have lovely beaches though if you can stand the heat in summer. I’m also against the road we are heading down politically with Rudd at the healm.. well I liked him signing Kyoto, but I disagree with the China-esque censorship he is seeking to introduce for starters.

As for family, I only have 1 sibling. A sister called Madison, 12 years old. She’s annoying most of the time, and is spoiled in attitude. She also doesn’t know the meaning of no, for the worse… to the point of tantrums. She’s still my sister though and I won’t mention it on my blog but you get the picture.

I’m an anime fan and I watch a lot of it. I guess that goes without saying. I’m generally following at least 10 anime at a time these days. That’s not as much as it sounds though - only 5 hours out of every week, less if you rid the episodes of the time allocated to commercials. My first series like many people was Sailor Moon back when it aired on Agro’s Cartoon Connection every morning. The next series I got into were the big 3 at the time - Pokemon, Digimon and Dragon Ball Z, all of which began to air on Cheese TV.

Perhaps due to my love of anime, I’m attempting to learn Japanese. I’m not far yet into this long journey. I tend to go through phases of dedication and then neglect it. I’m trying to break that habit. I would like to be fluent eventually. I wouldn’t mind living in Japan one day. It’s such an amazing country with an interesting culture and history, something I would like to experience first hand. Besides Japanese, once I get that into my head enough, if ever, I would also like to study and learn French.

As for other interests, there are many. I like law and polictics for starters. I also enjoy drawing, writing, reading, various TV shows that aren’t animated and too many others things. I don’t really have enough time to excel though at all of them. So I have to choose a few, and do pretty well in those. I guess to that end, I’m not really sure which direction I want to go in. I’m still young though and it is never to late to change at this stage.

If I had to give myself a political position, I think of myself as a centrest. I like capitalism and competition, but I think we need things like social health care. As for religion, I guess I’m an atheist. Superior beings may exist and have power that we don’t possess naturally, but I don’t think they are gods or anything of that sort. If there is anything to support this and there really isn’t (but nothing really supports religion and the bible doesn’t count people, it pains me for people to throw the bible down as evidence), its that we have many competing and varied religions each with different gods (most of the time), and beliefs. It is also assumed that the gods always existed, but if we had to be created, I believe they did as well if they were to exist, and if its possible for them to exist forever, why wouldn’t it be possible for our universe to have always existed.

This is turning into a bit of a rant, so I’ll end it here. Those wanting to know more should get in contact and get to know me. I love to make new friends. I am shy though, so it may be a little difficult to get me to open up.
